GARA 3 :  Spanish sprint

13ºC

Almadén, Spain,
In the picture ; back in 2011 this sprint stage was won by Marcel Kittel, who avoided a massive crash.

Hopefully teamcaptain & topsprinter Marello can avoid bad luck too,
because Italia needs an excellent result after the first 2 dissapointing races.

So far there are only three 19-year-old Aussie cyclists, all of whom are in my team.   Send your international scout down to Australia, where there's a good chance of picking up cyclists who'll feature in international races.

There was a sharp decline in participation as the season went on
Italia -2%
Tfd -14%
Espana -19%

Last year was flat compared to 2022.

On just gut-feeling, I have some worries. Hopefully my gut-feeling is not right, that can be a real possibility. In fact, I have no clue.

next tour ;
  12 hours and 9 minutes left to join.
previous winners ; Mitte ( 23 ), ophiuko ( 22 ), Vos ( 19 + 18 ).

Congrats Mlb! It was close, just 9 points behind you (and Vos 8 points behind me). Don't worry, I'll win the jersey next year with the WC in Kigali, Rwanda. I am the king of Tour du Rwanda (2x, tied with Animatoca but I win due to the most recent victory  :P), so I'll use all my knowledge about the Mur de Kigali.

By the way, next year women U23 will have a separate race, so hopefully there will be 6x races in the WC jersey game.

I noticed there are only 4 left in the games calendar in WCS, skipping the three World Tour category races in China, plus many .Pro races. Are the admins just not keen on the season end or should we worry?

It is an honor to win the men's world championship
Congratulations !  8)

About your other text. I consulted the "WC jurors of the CFF League", and they disagree with you.
According to them you are the very rightful winner of the WC jersey, for these reasons ;

# the u23 women's WC title( within the elite-race ) never counted before as victory for the CFF WC jersey.
# not fair to the CFF participants, to count that u23 WC title in hinside as victory as well,
because if they knew that in advance, other picks would have been made / more focus on the u23 cyclists, to try to get that victory too.

Personally I think that ophiuko "kind of deserves" a WC jersey, but unfortunately for him, again he did not win it.
And nice & fair to give ophiuko a well-deserved WC overview of the past 3 editions, because he is an amazing contender in WC races.

2024  ophiuko =  silver  ( with 1 victory out of 2 WC races / even lost it due to the only rule in the CFF League )
2023  ophiuko =  silver  ( with 2 victories, but Mitte won even 3x / in other years 2x out of 4 or 5 was enough to win it )
2022  ophiuko =  4th place ( with 1 victory out of 5 WC races / very close to win the WC jersey )

But the overview of WC jersey winners look like this ;
Quote
World Championship Trophy, previous winners ;

2024 Mlb  ( 1 victory out of 2 WC races )
2023 Mitte  ( 3 victories out of 5 WC races )
2022 Vlominck  ( 2 victories out of 5 WC races )
2021 Kalarratas  ( 2 victories out of 5 WC races )
2020 Kalarratas  ( 1 victory out of 4 WC races )
2019 Vos  ( 2 victories out of 4 WC races )
2018 Vos  ( 3 victories out of 4 WC races )
2017 oldmen  ( 1 victory out of 3 WC races )
