A lot of climbing in the Tour de France of season 13
The season 13 schedule is published. 8)
little tours ;
The TDU has that 88km time trial ; PN and CAT are for climbers with a sprint ; TIR is for hills-climbers with a sprint ;
ITZ is for allround tour cyclists, it has a cobblehills stage but no time trial ; ROM is a very different little tour, but also for allrounders ;
DAU has no time trial and no sprint finish ; SUI is very diverse ; and the BBT seems different as all previous times, a lot of flat and one TT.
big tours ;
The Giro and the Tour have almost no cobble sections, it seems to me the tour cyclists with cobble will ride the Vuelta.
The Giro has 4 stages that ends in a sprint, and the most remarkable ; The Tour has 3 different TT stages + 5 mountain stages.
world championships ;
Both are in Portugal ; the TT is just 19km with 2 little hills in it, and the road race is 254,1km with 5 hills sections.

All in all a bad calendar for me :P

All in all a bad calendar for me :P
Still a good start. Verbeek opened with the win in the TDU. His 24th win in total in 1a. Lets see if we can win another and maybe do a top 10 in the GC.

So far, so good. Verbeek didnt lose a second in the first 3 stages and opened up some nice gaps to other contenders. Tonight we will be at the mercy of the TT gods. Hopefully he can limit his losses and stay on a podium course. His lead on Sainz will not be enough and Stamer also looks like he will pass Verbeek quickly. After that it will be interesting. I am expecting a minute loss but it could be more. We will see. Not much i can do here.
-
A bit busy and therefore a very late post of my TDU selection, because there are just 2 more stages to go.

61 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/portugal.jpg) Gregorio ( 31 ), GC teamcaptain
62 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/hungria.jpg) Jannakopulosz ( 31 ), free role hill-sprinter
63 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/estonia.jpg) Kangert ( 29 ), TT
64 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/spain.jpg) Sordo ( 31 ), helper
65 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/holanda.jpg) Witsche ( 24 ), helper
My team is not in top form yet, but Jannakopulosz did very well in free roles ; he finished as 8º in stage 2 and as 12º in stage 3.
That cannot be said of teamcaptain Gregorio although he did not bad, the current 45º GC place is dissapointing.
Hopefully he is much better than many other GC rivals in the extreme long distance time trial of 88km, so he can move up a lot in the GC.
Otherwise I made a bad strategic decision to go for the GC instead of going for stage results.
-
I was a little scared when i saw Verbeek finish at over 4 minutes. In the GC the damage was less. He is now 5th with 54 seconds behind on Sainz who looks destined to win the TDU again. Verbeek may end up on the podium. He will need some luck for that.
-
stage 4 TDU ;
13º Kangert on 0:18"
- - - - - - - - - -
37º Gregorio on 2:14"
Very good results considering they both have 97 form and Kangert his stamina is not very high.
Gregorio moved up 32 (!) places in the GC and he is now 13º on 1:42" behind the new GC leader Sainz (Cabrasverdes).
It looks vey good that he will score GC points. But I hoped for a top10 GC before the TDU started and I assume that will not happen.
Already a ½ minute behind the nr10 GC and most likely many GC rivals are better in the final flat-hills stage.
-
Aaaaand its a 4th place. Not much differences in the final stage. Unfortunately Verbeek could not ride for the stage win. Still a decent 6th. All in all a nice TDU. Not much i could have done better. Verbeek finished at 0 seconds in all stages except the TT. And thats a TT. Better than expected. Now to see what Van der Vaart can do for my team in the cobbles.
-
stage 5 TDU ;
22º Gregorio on 0:00"
Unexpectedly he finished on 0:00" although his tactics included a very strong 5 EP finish what probably caused this surprising good result.
He even moved up in the GC and finished just outside the top10 ; 11º GC on 1:42"
My team scored 282 points in this TDU, and PN is the next tour to score because I have no cyclists for the 2 upcoming point-rich cobble hills races.

223 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/rusia.jpg) Basov ( 30 ), climb-TT + climb
224 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/italia.jpg) Miorlin ( 31 ), climb
225 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/ukrania.jpg) Samsonov ( 31 ), climb-sprint
stage 1 ;
1º Gabriele Tiblias ( OphiukoCT )
2º Smith on 0:01"
15º Basov
My team is not in topform yet in PN, with the exception of this stage 1 thanks to a WC card. Too bad 1st favorite Smith lost with 1 second.
stage 2 ;
1º Max Hegna ( Valderend )
2º Morris on 0:00"
9º Miorlin ( free role )
It was a sprint-a-deux, and a well deserved victory of Valderend thanks to great tactics, his team was the only one with a helper in s4.
But in contrast to stage 1, I'm happy with this second place for a climber who is not in topform and could not challenge the favorites.
stage 3 ;
1º Morris --> solo victory !
8º Miorlin ( free role )
27º Basov ( helper )
Amazing result ! Again Morris had just one helper, because Miorlin and Samsonov have free roles in PN due to maybe GC points.
This is Morris his 1st victory in his career. 8)
Even a CFF record with just 97 form, ánd he scored a sponsor deal of 388k.
Stage 4 is a dilema now, because the plan was to make Samsonov the teamcaptain for stage points.
Or Miorlin as teamcaptain if he is ranked good in the GC. And he is, despite no topform and free roles ; 11º GC on 1:46"
Samsonov is probably too far behind with 55º GC on 3:50", but he can sprint.
Let's go for another choice although he cannot sprint. Fun to see where he ends up in the GC. The (edit; maybe) stage 4 teamcaptain =
(https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/jerseys/jersey_yellow.png) Morris ( current GC leader :) )
edit ; hmmm, or Miorlin as teamcaptain because I see there is hard wind in stage 4 and Miorlin likes riding with the wind. It really is a dilemma^^
-
stage 4 PN ;
1º Mark Curry ( CC_Porco_Jones )
8º Samsonov on 0:00" ( free role ) --> very good result.
29º Miorlin on 1:07" --> dissapointing 5th of the 3rd group, he should have been in the 2nd group that was 0:41" faster.
52º Morris on 1:53" ( free role ) --> grrrrrr, as 1st of the big 4th group, with a little more luck he could have finished 0:46" better.
It is very doubtfull that my stragic choice for Miorlin as teamcaptain in stage 4 was a good choice, probably not.
Teamcaptain Miorlin and free role Morris did not great in this stage. If they finished one group better ; a much higher GC ranking.
But with the final decisive sprint stage to come, both would not ride a good GC result anyway. As I estimated before PN started.
Samsonov is doing better as I expected, also he has a chance to score GC points because he can sprint a bit.

Now that the mountains have passe we see the lightweight climbers dissapear from the GC. Tonight will be interesting. Ablett did a good race this morning where he finished 6th and moved up to 7th in the GC. We aim for the podium but i think a 4th should be possible.
Edit: and i almost forgot that i got the achievement for 500 challenges won :D Took a while but now we go for the 1000.
-
the achievement for 500 challenges won :D
:o
Impressive ! And for sure this is an unique achievement for a long while ; the nr2 OphiukoCT has 255 challenges won.
SPORTLIFE is also high ranked. In the next race I hope to win 200 times. Not easy, because the opponent is your Loinaz. Good luck ! :)
-
Bentinck wins the final stage, his 49th victory in 1A ! :o Congratulations Spammie ! 8) (or even the 50th victory if this stage win is not updated yet in the ranking)
It is very close with also an excellent Palmer, but Reinertsen proves again he is an amazing GC rider. Congratulations, Flandria ! 8)
For what it is worth ( not much ), SPORTLIFE has the most cyclists in the top 20 GC. :))

Two options in this little tour ; go for the GC or go for stage results, because all 3 sprinters are in topform in the final 2 sprint stages.
Also Samsonov is in topform after riding Paris Nice. Only Beck is not in topform yet, but he should be a good helper in the first 3 stages.

Good luck everyone ! :)
-
Verbeek is performing steady in MSR. Another 5th place.
-
Tirreno Adriatico ;
Samsonov scored a few points in stages 1 and 3, and in the final GC he finished 20º on 2:21"
But my most succesfull cyclist was the new bought 28yo sprinter Sam Lebrun ; 2º stage 4 and victory in stage 5. 8)
Volta a Catalunya ;
Fraser Morris was the succesfull teamcaptain in this little tour. His stage results ; 121º, 1º solo victory 8), 8º, 19º and 9º.
In the GC he ended up at the 7º place on 1:45" behind Catalunya winner Gerhart Wächter ( galegospolabici ).
The other SPORTLIFE cyclists scored points too in this little tour, for example free role sprinter Lebrun finished as 9º in stage 1.
Morris is sold after this tour.
Also Jannakopulosz ( 23º and 11º as helper in TIR stages + 26º MSR ) and Lodolini ( 21º E3H + 21º DDV + 18º stage 3 ITZ ) are sold.
Itzulia Basque Country ;
(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colinasbronce.jpg)(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/montanaplata.jpg)(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/vueltaplata.jpg) Nicolay Løvdal did great in this little tour : :)
excellent 4º stage 1, surprising 2º stage 2, 79º stage 3 with help in all sections, 9º stage 4, and a very unexpected solo victory 8) in stage 5.
Thanks to this great stage 5 victory, Løvdal moved up many places in the GC and he even almost won Itzulia !
Itzulia top 10 GC =
1 Oscar Marcos 27 IKIBASQUE 0: 00"
2 Nicolay Løvdal 31 SPORTLIFE 0: 05"
3 Kevin Bush 28 CC_Porco_Jones 0: 09"

Now the focus is on the point rich classic races. Again SPORTLIFE has no real contenders, just like in the previous classic races of this season.
Although the sold Lodolini scored (without TC bonus) a few points in E3H (21º) and DDV (21º).
The also sold Jannakopulosz scored a few points in MSR (26º), the first time he managed to score points in that not for him suited race.
Unfortunately no contenders at all for Paris Roubaix, and for the upcoming 3 hills classic races a cheap silver hills specialist is bought.
Hopefully he can score a few points. Today I invested also 80k in a silver helper to make the chance of finishing top30 a little bit bigger.
But that will be very difficult. The hills classic selection of SPORTLIFE =
31 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/letonia.jpg) Heilmanis ( teamcaptain )
32 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/estonia.jpg) Ojake ( helper )
The new bought hillsclimber VanDerVlies and the new bought 21yo training project Rubiera will be helpers too (if they can help, probably not).
Very low start numbers because my team is to my big surprise 4th in 1A at the moment. :)
But my team will drop many places after the upcoming 4 classic races.
-
You are doing great so far Vos!
TeamRHB had some dissapointing races. We lost hope of finishing top 3 this season and that hurt. Now we are trying to scratch back and get into a positive flow again. Itzulia went OK and we were able to get some points there. Luckily Verbeek is still riding for our team and he finally got his second Amstel win and his 7th classic in total. Very happy with that.
He is now record holder for most wins in all Ardennes classics. Together with his world championship makes him te best hiller in the history of CFF3. The AGR victory was also his 25th on the highest level. He is now 4th behind the terrific Bentinck (51 wins), Travin (44 wins) and Pierre (36 wins). All 4 incredible riders. But please dont tell him this, he needs to rider Flecha and Lieja still.
-
Thanks Sjiz :)
You are doing great too, especially with Verbeek ; after his excellent AGR victory, even an amazing solo victory in Flèche Wallonie ! 8) 8)
Good luck in La Doyenne, maybe he can win that too (and again). That would look awesome on his already very impressive palmares.
Amstel Gold Race ;
1º Verbeek ( TeamRHB )
20º Helmains
Flèche Wallone ;
1º Verbeek ( TeamRHB )
21º Helmains
Excellent results of this silver SPORTLIFE hills specialist. :)
In AGR he even had help of 3 teammates in the first hills section (s3), but in FW he had to do it on his own after help in flat section 1.
Of course, after AGR selling his 2nd best helper Anthonisen ánd even firing his best helper Ojake, that did not help Helmains in FW. :))
Most likely that did not matter in the result. The bad director with 12 on one-day-races has probably a more negative influence.
LBL will be more difficult to score points due to the low stamina of Helmains.
Hopefully hillsclimber VanDerVlies ( and maybe the 21yo Rubiera ) is good enough to return / help in s2, then Helmains has a chance.
-
Lets see if he can complete the triple. That would be nice.
-
It happend just once before that a cyclist won all 3 classic hills races in one season ;
Gascogne Carrere ( Flyvende_hjul ) did that in season 6.
Doing the same in season 13 is more impressive due to much more competition now.
-
Thanks for looking it up, i was about to do it myself :P
Flecha was a strange race though. Many favourites lost contact and the top 10 was filled with surprises. Makes me extra happy that Verbeek did do what i expected of him.
-
No triple for Verbeek. A great race by Bronx who made a great attack and took the win. Still a good campaign for Verbeek. Again 2 wins and a 2nd place. Now Loinaz can start his season.
-
Liège–Bastogne–Liège ;
12º Helmains
In a bit of odd tactic a more than excellent result, also thanks to hillsclimber VanDerVlies who did a surprising great job in the first 3 sections.
Helmains proved to be a good last-minute buy (of 612k) for these hills classic races. He scored a total of 295 points, way more than I expected.
And it is possible that he will ride the Giro too as helper for GC contender Samsonov, who is not riding Romandie.
Unfortunately Romandie is not a suited tour for the nr2 GC Itzulia, silver tour rider Nicolay Løvdal. He goes for a good stage 2 result.
I have a strange Romandie selection, because none of my climbers is selected for stage 4.
Well, so far the little tours in this season are going very well for my team, hopefully in Romandie also a few good results and enough points.
-
Unfortunately Romandie is not a suited tour for the nr2 GC Itzulia, silver tour rider Nicolay Løvdal.
Tour de Romandie
stage 1 ; 108º Løvdal on 2:23" ( ! ) --> with a mechanical breakdown in the crucial section 5.
stage 2 ; 27º Løvdal on 0:59" --> bad race, gambled and lost because he started too slow.
stage 3 ; 74º Løvdal on 3:07" --> again not a good tactical race because he was already isolated in section 3.
So far a very bad tour of Løvdal / or better said ; of his manager.
Løvdal has to ride a very good stage 4 to maybe squeeze a few GC points out of this Romandie. At the moment he is 25º GC on 2:38"
His (free role) team mate Ibarrola is even better ranked ; 21º GC on 2:16" what is 8 seconds behind the number 20.
Hopefully Løvdal and/or Ibarrola can score a few GC points in Romandie, despite a free role in stage 5.
Because that final stage is for my sprinters, to try to defend the honor of my team in this so far not succesfull little tour.
Although there was a good result of my Australian flat TT-specialist,
who showed here that he should have no problems with the 2 little hills in the WC time trial in Lisbon at the end of this season.
stage 1 ; 6º Bell
Of course, so far just one top10 stage result in a little tour, that is not SPORTLIFE-worthy. All pressure on the sprinters now. :)
-
Tour de Romandie ( part 2 )
stage 4 ;
6º Løvdal
16º Ibarrola ( free role )
stage 5 ;
3º Lebrun
17º Perea ( helper )
Excellent results in the final 2 stages. :)
Løvdal ( 14º GC ) and Ibarrola ( 18º GC ) scored even some GC points. After all, a good little tour of my team.
-
(https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/logos/28b1bdb46a7fe0ef3bc71ce3defe3266.png)
1º Samsonov 8)
25º Beck ( helper )
28º Løvdal ( helper )
Great victory ! Because Samsonov could not challenge any favorites.
But he proved in previous season (2º) already that he likes to race in Frankfurt.
This is the very first classic race victory ever of SPORTLIFE ! 8)

After winning Eschborn-Frankfurt the expectation for the Giro is sky-high ; GC podium. Hopefully it is a realistic goal.

-
Halfway the Giro my team did not score many points ;
in stage 2 an excellent 3º place of Samsonov, and in stage 4 the climb TT a 22º place of Washington.
But the goal is the GC, and it looks like a very fierce GC battle at the moment ; the top 15 GC within one minute ! :o 8)

Too close too call anything yet. Exciting Tour so far, looks like everything is still possible.
-
stage 6 ;
nr8 GC Pires and GC leader WinklerPrins made the difference by finishing in the first group on 0:00"
Samsonov finished in the 3rd group on 1:07" and dropped from nr10 to nr11 GC.
stage 7 ;
A perfect helpers job of sprinter Lebrun who finished as 8º.
As expected Samsonov could not follow him in the final section, but finishing in the 2nd group on 0:22" is an excellent result.
Also because none of the major GC rivals finished in the 1st group of 20 sprinters, and he moved up from nr11 to nr6 GC.
No more sprint-finishes in the Giro from now on. The upcoming 3 stages in the hills and mountains will be decisive for the GC.

It will be a tense fight in the last tough stages. Loinaz is still on the podium and the goal is to keep him there. The failure in the hill stage made me lose contention for the win. The podium is possible so we fight for that.
-
After stage 8 it still is very close. It does look like Pires and WinklerPrins will fight it out for the win and Loinaz, Samsonov, Collins and Roethlisberger will fight for the last podium step (even Stabulniks, Rio, Valgren, Gaspoz, Pugovkin and Pantani have chances).

stage 8 ;
4º Samsonov on 0:04"
Excellent result, and he moved up from 6th to 4th GC.
stage 9 ;
27º Helmains ( in a perfect helpers job )
56º Samsonov on 1:08"
Still 4th GC but there is a new nr3 GC and the gap towards the podium is now 20 seconds instead of 15 seconds after stage 8.

The only real thing to stay is that its very close :p
-
It is being a exciting Giro, very tacticall also, even thought there has not been wind. There will be fight till the last day. I am surprised with the good performance of my rider Collins, it is his best performance in a big tour. I hope we gets the podium but Loinaz and Samsonov are strong opponents.
-
Yes, Tours are far more exciting when CaptainOrange decides to leave Hilton at home ;D
Wil be a tough battle in the last stage for the win and for the 3rd podium spot, so it seems. Pires seems to have the edge over WinklerPrins in the mountains, but he still has a gap of 26 seconds to close. I'm curious. For WinklerPrins, this is his best performance in a big Tour as well.
-
A fitting end to a close Giro. It was still a seconds game. Pires won, Winklerprins rode a great tour and got his first grand tour podium. Vos got a great podium with Samsonov and Collins and Loinaz ended up close behind. I am fairly happy, the first hill stage was the biggest dissapointment. No points and time lost. I started out hoping to compete for the win and i did, at least until stage 6. Now to the Dauphine.

stage 10 ;
2º Samsonov on 0:15"
4º Washington ( helper )
WOW, very unexpected, amazing result, finishing solo as 2nd behind stage winner ánd Giro victor Pires.
Thanks to the much better helper, 3rd favorite Washington, who did a perfect job.
Samsonov moved up to the podium in the final GC. This is the very first podiumplace ever of SPORTLIFE in a big tour. 8)

Exactly the same selection for the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de France.
Tour de Suisse ; Maybe Ibarrola can ride a good GC, however, he does not have helpers in 2 stages so the expectation is not high.
If his GC position is too low after 4 stages, the final mountain stage will be for one of my climbers as teamcaptain.
Tour de France ; Good results in the 5 mountain stages are the objectives.
It is uncertain yet who will be the climb teamcaptain, perhaps even different teamcaptains in those 5 stages.
Ibarrola gets a free role to try to score a few GC points, and probably he can score some points in stage 7.
Maybe Basov is even better in the GC, although he is very bad in stages 2 and 5 where he will lose many minutes.
But he can climb and has a TT skill as extra.
But also ; he has to be the teamcaptain in all mountain stages to maybe ride a GC, and at the moment that is very doubtfull.
The only not-climber of this selection is Kangert, he has to score points in the flat TT stages of both tours.
41 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/spain.jpg) Ibarrola ( 31 ), GC Suisse + free role TdF

45 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/estonia.jpg) Kangert ( 29 ), flat TT
Good luck everyone ! :)
-
Kangert did well in the opening stage Vos.
For me Suisse is all for Loinaz. We will see how he does.
-
Indeed, Kangert did very well and this 2º place is by far his best result in his career.
He even almost won this TdS stage 1 with 3 cyclists finishing on 0:00" Too bad the finishline was not at the end of section 4. :)
Good luck with Loinaz.
I have Ibarrola as GC contender, hopefully he is good enough for a nice GC result.
His just 3 icons disagree with my hopefull thoughts ; bronze on TT, silver on climb and gold on tour.
But he has TC bonus ( in contrast to Loinaz ), and he proved 2 times before that he can ride a good GC ; 2º Romandie (s12) and 5º Vuelta (s11).
-
(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/incidencias/tools.png) Bad luck in stage 2 ; Ibarrola had a mechanical breakdown in the final section.
Despite this, he is doing pretty well in the GC, at the moment 11th on just 0:38"
Let's see how he will do in the mountains of the next stage ;
Tour de Suisse stage 3 : Fiesch – Gommiswald
At 186 kilometres, the 3rd stage of the Tour de Suisse takes in an altitude gain of 3,328 metres.
The race goes from Fiesch to Gommiswald and travels over two huge passes, Furka and Klausen, before it concludes with a punchy finale with ramps up to 18%.
On rolling terrain the first 21.8 kilometres run to the base of the Furka pass. The 16.5 kilometres climb is averaging 6.3%. The Aston DB5-Ford Mustang car chase in James Bond’s Goldfinger was shot at these very slopes. The Furka peaks at 2,429 metres and the last time the pass was included in the Tour de Suisse was in 2016. It was the first climb in a stage that was won by Darwin Atapuma.
Following a long descent the riders reach the Klausen pass after almost 100 kilometres. This pass was included in the 2016 Tour de Suisse, albeit in another stage. The Klausen was crested with 60 kilometres to go and eventually Pieter Weening took the win.
Klausen pass is really a climb with two faces. The first 11.6 kilometres are characterized by a 4.8% gradient and following a 900 metres plateau the climb continues for 12.5 kilometres at 7.2%. On the top, there are almost 70 kilometres left to race.
Firstly, 22 kilometres on descent and then 45 kilometres on the flat. Just when you might think the slopes are history a punchy finale appears. With 4 kilometres remaining the riders hit a 2.5 kilometres climb at 5.2%. But this statistic is biased as the hill is extremely irregular. An 8% stretch continues onto a short drop before the road climbs 700 metres at 8% before it kicks up to 12% in the last 400 metres. A short false flat leads to the final flat of 1500 metres.
Probably the final section 5 in CFF might be just a flat finish, instead of the punchy finish in the real version of this Tour de Suisse stage.
-
Indeed, Kangert did very well and this 2º place is by far his best result in his career.
He even almost won this TdS stage 1 with 3 cyclists finishing on 0:00" Too bad the finishline was not at the end of section 4. :)
Good luck with Loinaz.
I have Ibarrola as GC contender, hopefully he is good enough for a nice GC result.

But he has TC bonus ( in contrast to Loinaz ), and he proved 2 times before that he can ride a good GC ; 2º Romandie (s12) and 5º Vuelta (s11).
Yes, Ibarolla does better than his icons would suggest. A good race this morning.
For me Loinaz did well too. Didnt lose much time on the best cobblehiller GC guys and won time on the others. Still very close so nothing really to say about the chances. Tonight will be a little more clear (and after stage 4 and 5 even more) :P.
So far, so good. Tonight Cook will need to help Loinaz. Its going to be windy.
-
A good tour for Loinaz so far. Unfortunately had a breakdown in s5 this morning. That may have cost 18 seconds. Still a good stage and happy with the tactics. Tonight the real mountains will decide the race :D
-
TdS stage 3 ;
4º Ibarrola on 0:00"
7º Miorlin ( free role )
Excellent results. 8)
To my surprise helpers Basov and Nyheim were not good enough, and Ibarrola had to do it on his own the whole race.
I guess he did not need helpers in this stage, so a good decision that Miorlin could score some points extra in a free role.
TdS stage 4 ;
72º Ibarrola on 1:37"
He was not suited for this stage, and his helpers were not good enough to help in s1 ;
still, he did pretty well in this stage without sprint- and hills icon.
At the moment Ibarrola is 8th GC on 1:19" and as teamcaptain he can win time in the final stage. Probably a lot of time.
But the nr6 GC is already on 0:33", and Ibarrola has to overtake at least 5 rivals to get a podiumplace if he can close the big time gap.
A very uncertain situation with too many rivals who are far ahead. Most likely one or a few are good in stage 5 too.
Sometimes a difficult game, because what to do now ? Try to get that podiumplace anyway or go for stage result with one of my climbers.
And it is even difficult who to pick as teamcaptain if I go for a stage result.
None of my climbers are favorites, however, Basov and Nyheim can challenge favorites, and Miorlin can not (as usual ).
But Miorlin his secret weapon is active ( 2 weather icons ), and Nyheim has 1 active weather icon, but extreme low experience.
And Basov is the CFF record holder in this stage ( I remember he achieved that as not-favorite )
Difficult. Or go for a good stage result with Ibarrola to try to get on the podium despite he is far behind in the GC at the moment ?
It can be possible, but a GC result outside the podium is not good enough to me, then I rather have one of my climbers as teamcaptain.
-
I think you just summarized this entire game in one post Vos. Sometimes its impossible to choose what to do. Luckily, for me its clear this time. Loinaz will lead and Logins will try and help him as much as possible. Hopefully we can beat Pandolfi and take the win. If not: well lets hope we can at least keep our position. That will be hard enough.
-
TdS stage 5 ;
4º Miorlin on 0:15" ( teamcaptain )
5º Basov on 0:15" ( free role )
18º Nyheim on 1:08" ( helper )
25º Ibarrola on 1:15" ( free role ) --> with mechanical breakdown in the most important s5 final climb.
Well, if Ibarrola was teamcaptain (with masterhelper) ánd he had no bad luck in s5, he probably could have finished 53 (or 45) seconds sooner.
What would not be good enough to get on the podium.
Now in a free role with mechanical breakdown, he remained on the 8th place in the final GC with the same 1:19" as before this stage.
So a good choice to make one of my climbers the teamcaptain in this final mountain stage.
Although it was not a perfect race, and even not a good teamcaptain choice.
First of all ; helper Nyheim was in s3 already behind, and could not return in s4 despite using EP ánd his amazing descentcombo(84t/98dh).
So Miorlin had no helper in s4, what is crucial to compete for victory as not-favorite who even could not challenge favorites.
Second ; in retrospective it would have been even better to chose for Basov as teamcaptain.
As free role cyclist he used one EP more as Miorlin, and he finished just one place behind him in the same time.
Anyway, considering the good competition in Switzerland, I'm satisfied about the results in this little tour.
And a good preparation for the more important Tour de France, because this exact same TdS team rides the TdF as well :

Congrats to the top 3 GC in Switzerland, including Loinaz who even was riding without TC bonus.
1 Massimiliano Pandolfi 31 WinterIsComing 0: 00"
2 Jørund Nordnes 30 Cabrasverdes 0: 16"
3 Rafael Carlos Loinaz 31 TeamRHB 0: 20"
-
I'm satisfied about the results in this little tour.
Extra note ; of course I'm not satisfied that Ibarrola had twice (in stages 2 and 5) a mechanical breakdown in the important final section.
-
Thaks Vos, but the win is very to close to be clompletely happy. I understnad your dilemma. At this right moment I am doubting if I go for GC or I try to win stages.
-
A good result from Loinaz in the final stage. Logins took it easy in on the first mountains and we had Cook with Loinaz. Then in the downhill Logins woke up and rode to Loinaz. He helped him the rest of the stage until he powered away in the final km.
Unfortunately Nordnes got away from Loinaz and we were unable to drop Pandolfi. But 3rd is not bad. Without the mechanical it could have been second. This i can live with. Better than losing the win :P
Now that Logins has warmed up he can go for an easy ride tomorro. 254km without a second flat. I would have organised a strike. These stages should not be allowed anymore :P
-
It was a very good Tour de Suisse for my team. A few very good stages gave Pandolfi enough space for the last stage, which wasn't really spot on, but still good enough to hold on.
It was about time to win a Tour, after coming second in both the zGiro and Dauphine.
Now, let's go for the Tour de France :)
-

Basov takes the yellow jersey.
TdF stage 1 ;
1º Basov 8)
27º Miorlin ( helper )
28º Nyheim ( helper )
Amazing victory !
I guess Basov had some help in s4 of his former teammate Morris. :) ( Morris won 2 mountain stages for SPORTLIFE this season )
Besides the yellow jersey, Basov won also a big sponsordeal of 595k in this stage.
-
After a good end to Suisse we got off to a good start in France. Logins, Nilsson and Moresi all did what we asked of them. A small misunderstanding in s3 caused Nilsson to lose contact. He gathered his strength and rode back to Logins. Unfortunately Basov had started his daring attack. Logins stayed calm and in the wheel of Nilsson until the final climb to Sestriere. Despite setting the best climbing time of the pack he was only able to get to the wheel of Basov as he crossed the line for the win. Still, a good second place. It provides perspective for the 4 other climbing stages :P
Due to his performance Logins will also be able to ride a free role in the non-climbing stages. If he can get 1:22 on many GC favourites every climbing stage he can afford to lose some time in the other 5 stages :P
-
Nice results, Vos and Sjiz, Rosland completes the podium. I think this might turn out to be an exciting Tour de France. :)
By the way; did you took notice of the fact that 5 of the top 6 places in 1st division standings are currently occupied by Dutch-speaking managers? :o

Indeed, the top 6 looks nice at the moment. :)
Also nice to see ; the battle between the top 3, they are very close together and for a long period this season.
So far a fierce battle 8), and it would not surprise me when this goes on till the end of this season with those little differences among the top3.
A big gap towards the teams of Sjiz of me, who both are competing in "the middle of nowhere", because there is also a big gap below us.
Well, let's hope one of the excellent top 3 teams gets a very unexpected, extreme downfall in the ranking, so we can battle for a podiumplace.
More a possibility seems that a lower ranked team joins us in the "battle" for the 4th place. For example Foeke is doing very well with his team.
By the way ; a not mentioned Dutch team, Yvo_Meppelink_ProCycling, is the current nr3 in the 1A medal ranking.
Good to mention this too, to make the Dutch "invasion" even more "notorious". ;)
Maybe also good to mention what team is on nr1 in that ranking, but for now I will not mention that. :))
-
VanderVaart did what he had to en finished a solid top 10. Now Logins can go again.
-
Ibarrola was not happy that I decided that the teamcaptain role went to Basov in hillscobble stage 2, because he had the yellow jersey.
2 helpers stayed with Basov the whole race, that was good, but his result shows he is not suited at all for this stage ; 144º on 3:56"
Probably the more smart choice would have been to make Ibarrola the teamcaptain, who lost precious time in a free role.
But Ibarrola has to ride (almost) all stages in a free role anyway, what makes scoring a few GC points very uncertain.
Maybe Ibarrola gets his only chance in hill-sprint stage 5, because Basov sucks in that stage even more as in this stage.
For now, Ibarrola and Basov are 11th and 12th in the GC, in exactly the same time, 1:26" behind new GC leader Nordnes ( Cabrasverdes ).
But I assume Basov is now more fit and more motivated for the next mountain stage 3, due to his teamcaptain role in stage 2.
Funny to mention about stage 2, that was won by Jackson ( Zatarra ) ; also here 5 out of the top 6 are Dutch-speaking managers. :)
-
Thanks to Jackson, indeed, Zatarra scored the first victory of the season. It's a tough season with several unlucky tactics/results in some races that would otherwise would be the scoring stages for Zatarra. The cobblehills classics were very unfortunate resulting in a tough relegation battle for the team.
It's the last full training season of our GC riders that currently are 23 years old. 5 of them have silver tour icons now. I expect three of them to reach gold before they turn 24. Kasper van der Goot is the most promising. He has no TT-skills whatsoever, so that he will reach gold is a sign to the GC riders that in non-TT tours a new competitor has risen. His 14th place in the Dauphiné on his 23rd already is a sign of that.
Hopefully Thale last 24 trainings (or so), he will improve just enough to reach gold (to increase value). And with a gold tour icon and just 17 on TT I let you all guess his other skills ::).
Now we just need to hope and pray that he can ride the TdF next season.
-
Good luck this season, Zatarra, I hope your team stays in 1A.
And indeed, an interesting TdF next season ; perhaps the first time the TdF has no time trial.
And 6 (!) mountain stages, even one more as this TdF. Talking about this TdF :) ;
TdF stage 3 ;
1º Basov 8)
19º Ibarrola on 0:58" ( free role )
20º Miorlin ( helper )
Nice to see how my team did in this mountain stage, especially in s3, and again an excellent victory of Basov.
Ibarrola dropped 2 places in the GC, now 13th.
Basov moved up in the GC, now 7th on 0:23" behind new GC leader Rosland ( WinterIsComing ),
who finished as 2º in this stage on 0:00" together with Basov and Vystavkin.
But Rosland and Vystavkin had to close the gap of 0:08" to Basov in the downhill, and that made them too tired to outsprint Basov. :)
-
TdF stage 4 ;
2º Basov, solo on 0:11"
27º Miorlin ( helper )
No victory this time, because CaptainOrange had a perfect tactic with a helper who was even good enough to be in the 5 man breakaway of s4.
Unfortunately main helper Miorlin was not good enough to do that. Well, he is the nr 333 and Basov the nr 205 in the golden climb ranking.
So, again an excellent result of not-favorite Basov, finishing solo as 2nd behind stage winner and new GC leader Palmer ( CaptainOrange ).
In the next hills-sprint stage Basov will lose much time, probably a few minutes.
After that ; 3 TT stages. I assume those will have a big impact on the GC.
-
TdF stage 5 ;
1º Cruyff ( TilburgTerriërs )
- - - - - - - - - -
36º Ibarrola on 1:16" ( free role )
117º Basov on 4:50" ( teamcaptain, with mechanical breakdown in s5 )
WOW, what a big time difference !
And I'm almost sure the mechanical breakdown did not even matter, because Basov was in the wheel of helper Miorlin in all 5 sections.
Well, I knew in advance that such a hills-sprint stage probably can cause an unrealistic big time difference,
and Basov dropped many places in the GC ; at the moment 12th on 4:39"
Ibarrola did remarkably well in this stage and he moved up some GC places, he is now 9th on 3:24"

Palmer has a good lead and there are still 2 mountain stages to go. Let's see how the classification looks after the 130 km of time trial to come. Then we will see what Nordnes can aspire to. So far he has done a decent Tour but there has been some mistakes.
Good luck to everyone

Logins did a good stage. He lost a little, 7 minutes, and we expect futher losses in the time trials. After that we will see how he will bounce back!

2º Stegmaier ( IKIBASQUE ) 0:00"
3º Basov 0:00"
4º Logins ( TeamRHB ) 0:11"

- - - - -
14º Nordnes ( Cabrasverdes ) 1:10"
17º Miorlin
25º Menke ( FaltososDeChigre ) 1:34"
Unfortunately and as expected ; the 24yo Nyheim and 9-star climber Miorlin were not good enough to help in s4.
Although Nyheim had a slightly better GV for this stage as his teamcaptain Basov, but Nyheim his very low xp is probably the negative factor,
and the reason Miorlin gets the hands icons in every mountain stage of this Tour de France.
Basov tried an (unplanned) solo attack in s4, but the 10 seconds ahead were not good enough to take the stage victory, although it was close.
Well, a 3rd place is also an excellent result for a not-favorite.
Also nice ; Basov secured a top10 final GC in this stage and there is a sponsordeal of 611k ( top10 GC ).
To me surprising ; Ibarrola could have finished final top10 easily when he would have been the teamcaptain instead of all stages in a free role.
It seems Rosland secured a final GC podiumplace with his stage victory.
Looking at these stage 9 results, he even moves up to 2nd GC in the final stage ; but it might be a fierce Norwegian battle between him and Nordnes.
As it looks now it seems certain that they both will finish on the final GC podium, and that Palmer is going to win the Tour de France.
Maybe I'm wrong in my predictions/statements, and the final mountain stage has surprising results.
We will know after the climb to the Pla-d'Adet in the Pyrenees. The finish is at 1.680 meters altitude.

I was hoping Miorlin was good enough to help in s4 due to his weather bonus.
In a 04350 he did a good job, but the full power in s4 was just not good enough.
Maybe it almost was, because he was in a chasing group of 4, just 0:16" behind the breakaway group of 6.
A 2nd place now for Basov, but he moved up 4 GC places thanks to this result. :)
KunTeam and CaptainOrange had still a helper in that s4 breakawaygroup,
and of course 1st favorite Niklitschek was helping his teammate Palmer to secure the Tour de France victory.
Congratulations Rico ! 8)
Palmer is now the most successful TdF cyclist, he won 3 times ( in 3 different teams ; HTCHungria, Codex and CaptainOrange ).
The most successful TdF team is now CaptainOrange, with 3 TdF victories ( 2x Hilton and 1x Palmer ).
Also congratulations to the podiumplaces of WinterIsComing and Cabrasverdes.
The top 3 of this Tour de France is also the current top 3 in division 1A, and they all had a 2nd cyclist in the top20 GC for some extra points.

Thanks for the kind words and for keeping everyone up to date during this Tour de France, Vos!
Palmer had very good help from his teammates in all the non-TTs and especially Niklitschek did a really nice job in the 5 climbing stages. With this help Palmer managed to keep the time difference between him and Rosland limited in the mountains and was able to create a big enough gap in the two other stages. Now we will go for stages in the BBT and then Hilton will try to get some more grand tour success in the Vuelta.
-
Congrats Rico. Very good TdF with Palmer and your helpers. Like you said, I wasn't able to win back enough time in the mountains to compensate for the big loss in cobb-hill and hill-sprint. Fair enough, have to settle for 2nd place with Rosland in Big Tour once again, just like in Giro with WinklerPrins. I have no hope to really challenge Hilton in the Vuelta, but I will go out and fight for every point of course.
-
Haven't commented for some time, just have to say that I'm thankful for the Tour results, as it'll mean I'll be in 1st Division for my aging cyclists (& mine) final full season.

1º Caan ( 25yo, Blackhole )
5º VanDerVlies
21º Samsonov
Excellent result of my Dutch hillsclimber who could not challenge any favorites and who finished on 0:00" in the front group of just 7 cyclists.
Maybe also remarkable that two 25yo's are on the podium in SanSebastian.
It will be an interesting next season with the decreasing skills of the enormous first generation, ánd the many upcoming young top cyclists.
SPORTLIFE has already a new record in season points after SSB. My team never scored so many points in one season. 8)
And a 4th place at the moment, but I don't expect this record will be broken ( my team was twice before 4th in the final 1A ranking ).
The numbers 1 and 2 are way too far ahead, although the nr3 is "in sight", currently 997 points ahead.
But I estimate that my Vuelta selection is not good enough, and I have no hills specialist for the WC roadrace.
Dropping to place 5 is more a possibility and I even think that is presumable. Well, 4th or 5th does not matter, only the 3rd place is interesting.
Let's see how the BinckBank Tour goes. Unfortunately no GC contender in the BBT.
All hope is on good stage results of Jørgensen, although I'm not sure if he is really suited for stage 3 to Rotterdam.
And I expect enough extra points in the time trial.

An early look at my WC TT squad in their final WC race as favourites.
-
Let's hope another Australian TT specialist can challenge one (or even a few) of your great WC TT team, AA.
And that is your ex-cyclist Neil Bell. I estimate he is suited for this specific WC TT of 19,2km with 2 little hills in it.
But it is hard to predict, and the expected storm is not an advantage to Bell.
Despite this, I'm hopefull that he can finish top10. And hopefully he does even better, but top10 can also be too optimistic, I have no idea.
Already good luck on the WC TT, AA ! :)
-
An early look at my WC TT squad in their final WC race as favourites.
I think either Clickett or Mitchum will win this one. Maybe Merisalu will be a good surprise.
And of course my Spiker will surprise everyone :P
-
Ok, so the best are getting ready for the TT WC, but they're 20 years old, and in poor health, and not my best 20yo, and I know others have tried it with 22 year olds & failed.
Btw Vos, good 1st win in Div1 for Bradbury, he can retire now (like Steve Bradbury).
-
Thanks AA, it was really close with your Acree who finished as 2nd on 0:00"
And maybe I have to congratulate you, AA, because there is a good chance you won a nice price in this time trial. The future will tell.
I guess my TT specialists could profit a lot of that most rivals are absent in the BBT because they are on training camp for the WC TT.
And no retirement for Bradbury, he and Kangert are just 29yo.
In contrast to your mentioned short tracker Steve Bradbury, who is now 47yo.
And known for his extreme luck when he won the gold medal in 2002. ( although I had to google this, he even has an Australian stamp with his face on it :) )
BinckBank Tour ;
stage 1 = 3º Jørgensen
stage 2 = 17º Redondo
stage 3 = 3º Jørgensen
stage 4 = victory !
1º Bradbury
3º Kangert
19º Redondo
Despite a director with just 10 on small tours ; excellent results in the BBT. 8)
At the moment Jørgensen is even 2nd in the GC, what is very surprising with his low TT skill of 28.
Most likely he will not score a few GC points because he is not suited at all for the final cobblehills stage.
But he is going to try with his 1 star on hills,
although he has just 2 teammates left (and just 1 real helper), because Kangert and Redondo are abandon to prepare for the TDU.
-
BinckBank Tour ;
stage 5 ;
76º Jørgensen on 2:03"
WOW, a very good tactical race, an excellent race result, and luckily no big time differences for not suited cyclists in this cobblehills stage.
This resulted in a very unexpected and a very good 8º place of Jørgensen in the final GC. :)
-
And no retirement for Bradbury, he and Kangert are just 29yo.
In contrast to your mentioned short tracker Steve Bradbury, who is now 47yo.
And known for his extreme luck when he won the gold medal in 2002. ( although I had to google this, he even has an Australian stamp with his face on it :)
If he's 47 now, he would have been 28 when he won the gold medal (btw, for those who don't know, Steve Bradbury was a speed ice skater. He was running dead last in the semis when those in front tripped over each other, and then he was way behind when the same happened in the final, so he won gold. Of course eight years earlier he should have won but he was pushed by a competitor, so it evened out I guess).
But anyway, any win in Div1 is great, and it wasn't like a few seasons ago (possibly season 10 - or 9), when I set my third string cyclists in for 1-2-3-4-7? because no other TTers were racing.

A great solo victory of VanDerVlies in stage 4 8) , thanks to his excellent helper Lacroix who finished as 26º
In stage 5 VanDerVlies scored a few points ( also 26º ) despite his very low cobble skill.
So far a good Vuelta. This stage 4 victory is already the 10th race victory of my team this season. :)
One more victory, and there is a new SPORTLIFE record of most race victories in one season.
Hopefully 1st favorite Smith can achieve that in the next stage 6. But so far he never won a race, probably due to his too low xp.
Or maybe due to the luck factor, or maybe due to active weather icons of rivals. This time just the 5th favorite has an active weather icon.

The current nr4 has already the record of best scoring nr4 ever. :))
No doubt the nr2 will get a record amount of points too, and probably the nr3 also.
The nr1 record holder is °Peachy°Melocotons with 17.521 points in season 11.
But who knows, maybe the 1A champion of this season 13 can beat that.
It's already sure that the 1A champion of s13 will be one of the best scoring 1A champions.
-
I didnt know that my last 2 4th places would have been good for a podium in many other seasons. Such a shame :P I guess i will be the best scoring #5 ever after this season :P
-
The record will be beaten again within the following two seasons, and again. I won't be surprised to see a 20k winner within the next 3-4 seasons.
-
A few stages where i played it safe. This showed in the stage results, which were not extremely good, but also in the GC where no major time losses happened. So Loinaz now sits well in 6th place. If he is there tomorrow night i will be satisfied.
The true battle will now begin. Hilton will most likely end up at 4000 points this season. Verbeek currently has 2800. With 2 stages where he can score points and the world championships to go he may be able to win the gold bike. Right now i would not call him a favourite, but we will try.

Vuelta stage 7 ;
19º Sky-Bailey
Vuelta stage 8 ;
1º Sky-Bailey 8)
Again a victory on the notorious Angliru.
A very successful Vuelta of my team with 1x 3º and 3x 1º, all solo victories. :)

the decisive solo attack of Sky-Bailey on the Angliru

6º Lacroix
9º Pacheco ( Cabrasverdes * )
10º VanDerVlies --> in a free role
11º Rodionov ** ( FrançaiseDesJeux )
Splendid results of my both hillsclimbers. 8)
And the 10º place of VanDerVlies without TC bonus in a free role is a to me very surprising, outstanding result.
However ;
** = individual Russian battle
The rival of Basov was Rodionov who finished 4º GC in the Vuelta.
Basov his season was already over after the Tour de France, and Rodionov had to finish outside the top 11 in Lombardia.
But unfortunately he finished as 11º, what was just enough to beat Basov with just 7(!) points.
Too bad, almost the very first ever nation jersey of my team.
* = the maybe "battle" for 1A podiumplace
An almost mission impossible before (and after) Lombardia.
Situation report before Lombardia ;
737 points behind rival Cabrasverdes, and we both had a good Lombardia selection with a very good teamcaptain,
and even more important ; it will be his 2 hills specialists versus my 2 TT specialists in the 2 WC races.
To close the big gap ; my team had to race a better Lombardia ; ánd score many more points than Cabrasverdes in the world championship.
My team has no hills specialist and his team has no TT specialist.
After an excellent Lombardia the big gap decreased and it is now 522 points, that is a lot in this situation.
Cabrasverdes has hills specialists Lustig (this season 3º LBL) and Conte (won 2 NT races in his career), both are high in the golden hills ranking.
So, only with real top results in the WC TT my team has still a little chance to beat Cabrasverdes.
Perhaps it even means that Bell has to win, and unfortunately he is not one of the favorites.
Also a disadvantage, the nr1 and nr 4 favorites have an active weather icon, and Bell does not have that.
But he has a chance, because he can challenge the top 3 favorites.
Although I estimate there are many, many more rivals who are very close in GV to the favorites. Maybe anything can happen this evening.
-
I'm pretty certain Clickett will be ranked 6th, he can only challenge the top 3 cyclists.
-
Also Bell can challenge only the top 3 cyclists. And besides Bell and Clickett, perhaps there are more "6th" favorites. (as I already guessed a bit)
But Bell and Clickett are both Australian, so as NT manager you can compare them and I cannot.
Although I remember that one of your amazing TT team is very suited for this specific TT race of just 19,2km with 2 little hills.
I was not sure who that was, so it seems that my gamble in the Prediction Race was the good choice ; I predicted Clickett as TT world champion.
Bell is fully prepared with excellent conditions, so I guess/hope he has a chance too.
Maybe the 5 favorites are just better, 2 favorites (incl.1st fav.) have an active weather icon. The standard software luck can be very decisive too.

22º Altino Valerio 26 SPORTLIFE a 0 minutos 36sg
Not a bad time trial, but not good enough to beat Cabrasverdes. Now he needs just 109 points in the WC roadrace to finish as 3rd in 1A.
-
For me the success of the season rides on tomorrow. I do not believe i have a big chance to win. Bronx and Quinto are the clear favourites for tomorrow. If Verbeek can win the season will be a big succes as he will win the golden bike and a second rainbow jersey. If he doesnt it, the season will not be a very memorable one. Still a decent one with a, most likely, silver bike and Dutch jersey.

TOP 3 Lisboa WC roadrace ;
1º(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/arcoiris.gif) Gascogne Carrere 31 KunTeam 0: 00"
2º Denis Preisig 24 Quickstepbronx 0: 00"
3º Bob Kluivert 29 QuintoYtapa 0: 00"
- - - - - - - - -
21º Samuele Conte 31 Cabrasverdes * 0: 37"
* = the rival had to finish as 25º or lower, unfortunately the 21º place was enough for the 3rd place in 1A.
Very close between my team and Cabrasverdes, just 32(!) points.
If Bell had finished one place higher as 4º on the WC time trial, instead of his 5º place, then SPORTLIFE would be 3rd in 1A.
Final TOP 10, division 1A, season 13 =
(https://i.imgur.com/I9Xox6p.png)
Despite the 4th place, it was a good season of my team in a record amount of points, what would be good enough for a :
3rd place in 10 out of all 11 previous seasons
2nd place in 8 out of all 11 previous seasons
1st place in 3 out of all 11 previous seaons
Congratulations to the well deserved final top 3 ; CaptainOrange, WinterIsComing and Cabrasverdes !
Also they scored many points, for example WinterIsComing would have been champion in 9 out of all 11 previous seasons.
Extra congratulations to CaptainOrange with the golden- ánd silver bikes of Hilton and Palmer.
The 1st time ever someone achieved this ; very impressive !
Verbeek of TeamRHB won the bronze bike.
Also worth a congratulation but I know he was hoping for an even better result and it was very close with just 51 points behind Palmer.
-
Yes, well done to all this season!
For me it was one that wasnt really memorable. In the end i chose an all-or-nothing tactic. But seeing Verbeek without a sad face after he dropped a group in S1 says enough. He wasnt good enough today.
-
Thanks Vos, also for the overview.
I ran a good season with my team with many podium spots in races and tours, but it wasn't enough to keep Rico away from a consecutive win in 1st division. It was a good and fair fight, so I have to congratulate Rico with a deserved win.
For me, another chapter in CFF3 starts now, as I already sold more than half of my team last night, and the cyclists who are still with me, will seek other places early next season. I haven't decided yet what to train next season, but scout me a well talented 19yr old and you can earn a lot of money... ;D
Good luck to everyone in next season. :)

Good review Vos and also a really good season, it was a fierce battle. Hoppefully Conte made us win the points we needed. I was lucky at the end, on many occasions we could have scored more points both throughout the season.Congrats also to the rest of contenders in the division. They are being the hardest seasons this last ones.
