WCS 2022
« on: January 25, 2022, 01:10:37 PM »

The epic, decisive attack of Mathieu van der Poel in the Strade Bianche of 2021.

A new season starts in the CFF League of the World Cycling Stats !  8)

For new participants who want to join the cycling for fun subleague in WCS :

1. Click this link :  http://www.worldcyclingstats.com/en/games

2. Create an account ( it is free ).

3. Join the WCS subleague = cycling for fun
Click a tour or race that is open for participation,
then click leagues, now you see a list of all subleagues, search for cycling for fun and click it.
To join, you have to use a code/password : by pm you can ask this password to one of the CFF participants who already joined.
You have to use the password just once, after that, in all other tours and races of this season you are automatically in.
Keep the password secret please, just mention it to a new CFF participant who wants to join.

It is the WCS subleague cycling for fun, so it is for CFF managers of the normal CFF game.
But it is no problem if there are a few exceptions, for example a friend of you outside the normal CFF game who wants to join.
In this case, please inform one of the administrators ( = Kalarratas and Vos ) about this.
Ex-CFF managers are also very welcome to join the WCS cycling for fun league. Perhaps a motivation to start again in CFF as well.

4. You can change the language ; at the top of your WCS start page ( English, Dutch, Spanish or French ).

5. To play this game costs almost no time, just a few minutes to pick 15 cyclists and answer the extra questions.
You can also read a preview of the tour or race, a lot of previews are online. But this is not necessary, in my experience sometimes better results when you do the 15 picks + extra questions very fast without reading a preview.

It is up to you how often you want to join in the races and tours of 2022.
There are many CFF managers who join so now and then. Also some CFF managers join just the important races and tours.

6. After you picked your 15 cyclists and answered the extra questions ; nothing more to do, just relax and enjoy how your picks are doing. Do not forget to activate the 15 picks and extra questions with the select button at the bottom of your screen.

7. Enjoy and have fun !  :)

WCS schedule of the first one-day-race + the first 4 little tours :

4 days and 23 hours left to join.

Bring it on, Ophiuko ! :P
Previous season was my best year ever, and my intention is to improve that, by for example winning the Tour de France for the first time.
Bad news for the TdF title defender :P, because I'm already on "brainwave-trainingcamp" for the TdF :

Probably my strategy will be ; already in Denmark a fierce attack ánd the GC lead, and expand my lead in the Alpes and Pyrenees.
But first I will win the GP Marseillaise to get extra confidence for the rest of the season.  :)

The past 2 years I added the previous winners of upcoming tours and races, by using the history button of WCS.
But I just noticed that the cycling for fun league already excisted in 2016 with a full WCS schedule of just tours.
( So, without one-day-races, and therefore no changes in the all time ranking cycling monuments = https://cyclingforfun.org/smf/index.php?topic=700.msg29086#msg29086 )
WCS activated the history feature on January 1st, 2017, wich means that the 2016 results are not shown on the history page.
So, from now on I will mention the 2016 winners too ( the results can be found by clicking 2016 ).

It even started already in 2015 with only the 3 big tours, and with slightly different league names :
Giro d'Italia 2015 = Giro de CFF --> closed league with 5 CFF managers. GC winner = zombie.
Tour de France 2015 = Cycling for Fun --> open league with 32 participants, incl. about 24 CFF managers. GC winner = Sjiz.
Vuelta a España 2015 = CyclingForFun --> open league with 60 participants, incl. about 19 CFF managers. GC winner = Tarod.

Actually it goes back to at least 2014, I finished 12th out of 5506 in the TfD predictions, with another CFF player finishing 16th & 3rd in the CFF league in 34th overall.

Yes, you're right. I missed this, because I did not play in the Tour de France of 2014.
It is not even the very first CFF activity in WCS, because that was the Tour de France of 2013, also without me as participant.
To complete my historic posts :

Tour de France 2014 = cyclingforfun.org --> closed league with 17 CFF managers. GC winner = Aurora Australis.
Tour de France 2013 = CyclingForFun.org --> closed?or open? league with 36 participants, incl. >20 CFF managers. GC winner = WinterIsComing.
