  M.Pedersen wins stage 2.
One of the top-favorites, Skjelmose, crashed early in this stage. He tried to continue, but had to abandon.
Skjelmose was picked by 50% and 1x picked as GC winner ( by me, grrrrrr :) ).
It seems his injuries are not very bad, and as it seems now, he will be riding the WC race next week.

CFF League stage 2 winner = Patrick Kok  8)

  Solo victory of Vansevenant, and he takes the GC lead.

CFF League stage 3 winner = Vos  :)
Vlominck is the new GC leader in the CFF League, ánd Vlominck is the MC leader of all WCS participants !

I have still hope it will be on the WCS calendar.
But maybe my hope is in vain,
because in all other years the WC TT races were not open to join so late, and now not even on the calendar ( yet ? ).

The WC TT women starts this Sunday at 12.00 CET.
The WC TT men starts a few hours later, also on Sunday, at 14.45 CET.

Ayuso wins the 15½ km time trial.
van der Poel takes back the GC lead, and the top 5 GC is close ; Ayuso and Vansevenant on 0:03", Hirschi on 0:08" and Tiberi on 0:10"
But van der Poel is probably thé top favorite to win it, looking at the profile of the final stage with (sprint-)finish in Luxembourg(-city).

CFF League stage 4 winner = Vos  :)

Now I'm in the same "mood" as you, ophiuko. Still not on the calendar, and I guess the answer to your question = yes, no TT WC's.  :(

Gaudu wins stage 5.
I did not see this race with, to me, unexpected results and surprising GC shifts. Maybe the race profile was different as I thought.
Final GC ;  1st Tiberi 0:00",  2nd van der Poel 0:15",  3rd Gaudu 0:16"

CFF League stage 5 winner = Vlominck  8)

GC winner = Vlominck  8)
Vlominck wins also the sprint jersey.
Vlominck wins also the mountain jersey  &   MC winner of all WCS participants !
Vos wins the youth jersey.

An important mountain jersey win in the season trophy King of the Mountains.
Vlominck was already the leader in that trophy, but with the same amount of wins as 2 others. Now he is leading solo with +1 point.
And as it looks now, only 2 little tours left in 2024 ( what can change ).

It was a gamble at the end. Everyone against Van der Poel. Van der Poel didn't have any helpers (3 of them had to abandon on stage 1), so when the hills came at the end (short but steep), everyone was trying to attack (Hirschi and Vansevenant the most insistent) and Van der Poel kind of trying to tackle every attack. The lucky attack was the one of the quartet (Gaudu, Tiberi, Simmons, Jegat) for which Van der Poel didn't have any remaining strenght/didn't estimate them dangerous enough. After they took some gap, of course no one wanted to pull behind (only Hirschi for UAE, Ayuso was struggling and fell behind in a third group which eventually caught the VdP/Hirschi/Vansevenant group). On the final hill, VdP attacked, followed by Pedersen, but the front group was already too far away.

Very nice to read ! Thanks.  :)

Now it is my turn  ;) ;
are they really not going to add the u23 WC road race ?

Let's hope it will be, because it makes the battle for the WC jersey in the CFF League more interesting ánd more fun.

Well, if they skipped the elite TTs, no doubt they will skip any u23 races. It looks very much like it's going to be just the two that are already on the schedule. I guess the admins are fed up with the season already  :-\

Interestingly, the TTs were not even in the races calendar (including those without games), where they have a lot of races including 2.2, 1.2 and u23. It's worrisome. Are they on holidays? Is it the end of WCS?

I just realised that winning the women's race is absolutely worthless with only two races this year :D

Congrats ! And well, it has this "tiny-miny-advantage" ; if you achieve a split victory in the WC men's race, you will win solo the WC jersey.
However, everyone else can win the WC jersey too, with a split victory. Unless you are among the split victors.

But this is just theoretical, because in practice / future reality, I will achieve to win solo the WC men's race.  :P  :D  ;)

Kopecky is the 2024 world champion. 2nd Dygert and 3rd Longo Borghini.

CFF League winner = ophiuko  8)

next race ;

WC men's road race -->  4 hours and 39 minutes left to join.
previous winners ; ophiuko ( 23 ), Vlominck ( 22 ), Kalarratas ( 21 + 20 ), Txonys ( 19 ), Vos ( 18 ), oldmen ( 17 ).
Everyone can win the prestigious WC jersey of 2024, including new CFF participants ! So, let's join all, and good luck !  :)

Pogačar wins the world championship race with a magnificient 100km solo !  :o
O'Connor finished as 2nd, and van der Poel finished as 3rd by winning the sprint of a small 6-men-chasing-group.

CFF League winner & CFF world champion = Mlb  8)

next tour ;
  1½ day left to join.
previous winners ; Mitte ( 23 ), ophiuko ( 22 ), Vos ( 19 + 18 ).
