Does anyone know if we can send suggestions to the WCS admins? Given the frequency of last-minute changes to the length of the stages lately, it think it would be a good idea to change the extra question about final time so they look at the final average speed instead of the final time to give the points. We can still input the time (which is automatically translated into speed). It would mean that they have to modify the stage length when a stage is shortened though, but I don't think that's too much work?

In my memory / to my knowledge, nobody of the CFF League ever tried to contact WCS or made an suggestion.
( With maybe one exception back in 2019, because of some very unwanted, extreme idiotic bullies outside CFF game, but joined CFF League just to bully.
Maybe/probably it was me who contacted WCS, but maybe also the CFF participant that was targeted, contacted WCS as well.
I cannot remember. It is even very possible that the person who runs WCS, contacted us in this forum about this abuse-subject.
)

Anyway, I see on the WCS page that the "Contact us" feature does not work.
When you click "rules", on the bottom of that page you see "© Wijnreder Media" what might be an E-mail-adres.
Also the case at the bottom of the "votes" page.
But I never voted on a race or tour. Probably nobody of the CFF League ever did vote, at least, not to my knowledge.

My personal opinion about the time question = delete that question.
But fine by me if someone of the CFF League wants to do a suggestion to WCS, to change that time question. I will adapt, n.p. :)

My maybe handy advice for CFF participants who do not score many points with that time question ;
After I filled in the time question and then click the green square to confirm,
after that I always look at my overview page, what gives the average km/ph of the total time I filled in.
And often I peak at what was the average km/ph in that same race( or tour ) of previous year, if it is not too far off.

Good luck in Gent-Wevelgem everyone !  8)
edit ; do not forget that the clock goes forward at 2 am to 3 am, so, it might feel that the Sunday races start 1 hour earlier.  :))

I know that I did vote for certain races when they first introduced that feature.  It's even possible I've contacted WCS years ago (but not certain).
But the fact is, the WCS competition is dying a slow death, minimal work will go into it until they pull it.

You could be right, AA, but not about that "it is a fact" part.
Probably you mean by that ; "participation is declining", what is a fact.
"Dying a slow death" is not a fact, but a prediction, and you can be very right ; it might be a very accurate prediction.

About WCS and the only information I have about who runs it, because someone who runs it, wrote in this forum many years ago.
He and his old father started ánd run WCS, and their hobby became much bigger as they anticipated.
And the question he had on this forum, if someone of the CFF League wanted to join the organisation of WCS.

So, keep in mind it is run by just a father and a son, and also keep in mind it is free game, what is very rare in the current time.
Maybe we should be happy with everytime we can play WCS. :)
And all praise to the WCS organizors that we had fun in WCS for many years and for free.
I have worries too, if WCS will continue for a while, but that is just my gut-feeling and not a fact.
Hopefully my gut-feeling is wrong. What could be, because I do not know anything about how WCS is run in the present.

I sent the email with the suggestion but got an 'undeliverable' due to 'Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full)'. I hope they continue keeping WCS alive many years, I would be sad not playing it  :'(

P.S. I'm a bit annoyed by the numbers of tours where I've finished 2nd so far this season.

It turns out they received it anyway:

Good evening,

I hope you are doing well. Thanks for organising the games in WCS throughout the season, they are a lot of fun. I have a quick suggestion regarding the 'Final time' extra question. Given the number of stages that are shortened or cancelled last minute nowadays, maybe it could be worth giving the points looking at the average speed rather than the final time?

This is of course just a suggestion. Thanks again!

Kind regards,

Guillermo (ophiuko)

---------------------------------------

Hello Guillermo,

Thank you for the suggestion. It is appreciated that you take the effort to send us an email.
It is already on our list of potential improvements for the cycling game. As you suggest it tackles the issue of stages that are cancelled, neutralized or shortened.
Execution of the suggested change depends on the availability of the person that developed the scripts.
We run WCS with two persons in their free time.

Best regards,
Barend Wijnreder

Many kilometers before the finish line, it was clear the victor would be in the 4-men-front-group of 3x( ! ) Visma and 1x EF.
But in hinside, Visma made a big tactical mistake by gambling on the sprint, because the surprising winner was Powless ( EF ).
To the big dismay of the 3x Visma top cyclists ; 2nd van Aert, 3rd Benoot and 4th Jorgenson.

CFF League winner = Kalarratas  8)
Funfacts ; Kalarratas 2nd of all 402 WCS participants. Just 15 of them picked Powless, and 0x picked in the CFF League.

Solo victory of Longo Borghini. On 0:29" the sprint for the podium places ; 2nd Kopecky and 3rd Balsamo.

CFF League winner = ophiuko  8)
