I guess Franky is still in holiday-modus despite he is back from his holiday in maybe Hollywood and I know what he did there ; Relax !  :)
So I will do "his" job one more time.

RACE 3 : Dutch sprint

11ºC

Breda, the Netherlands,
A few weeks ago Venray was also the finish of a sprint stage in the BinckBank Tour. See picture, Hodeg won.

I suspect that NT manager $Tourmalet selected Nelson as team captain.
In previous season he did great in both flat sprint races with a 8th and 10th place.
In season 2 Dixon was the team captain in a flat sprint race and finished as 7th.
Remarkable in all 3 NT sprint races so far, that is that just the team captain could score points.
So, most likely again not many points in a sprint race. But who knows, maybe a surprising very good result.
Because the young Aussies are supermotivated this time since they saw their names in the excellent lists made by Franky. 8)

Australia NT selection ( in random order ) :

Donovan Foley (22) NervionBike
David Dixon (22) LosTxinosKudeiros
Liam Duffy (22) ProCyclingTeam10
Tony Carter (22) Vitimper
Bobby Jordan (22) LosTxinosKudeiros
Derek Nelson (22) Yvo_Meppelink_ProCycling
Robbie Palmer (22) Paquetazos
Gordon Woods (22) RealOviedo
Stu Woods (22) Wiggo_pupils

This week my TTers will begin their flat training, which means whatever result they get in the upcoming TT, they'll be expected to beat it next season.

Yes, I think the same but it is a while ago since I have seen the stats of Nelson, so my thoughts are not up to date.
You can ask the Dutch NT manager. He has good knowledge of the current topsprinters and Derek Nelson is riding in his team.
A funfact ; Derek Nelson is the most famous Australian according to the Australian NT page.

Next week a more suited NT race for Australia and hopefully again a lot of points like previous season, what was a record in one NT race.

Welcome to Breda, The Netherlands (again), in the first time trial stage in this season.

We expect a good bunch of points in this stage, as it happened last season, and advance some positions in the classification.

So the final 9 are:
Isaac Trump Aurora_Australis
Les Rooney Frenkie
Hank Kewell Frenkie
Freddy Butcher Antequera
Jim Slipper Frenkie
Richard Levin Aurora_Australis

Just a little comparison with Spain (with what I believe is their calculation formula)

Spain
1 Maximino Laguna 22 ChessPower 86.46
2 Higinio Espin 22 ChessPower 85.87 WIND
3 Kevin Santillana 22 ChessPower 85.29

Mine (note probably 2 extra training sessions since Spain's calculation)
Richard Levin 87.46
Isaac Trump 87.10
Ben Mitchum 84.91 (hot)
Owen Acree 84.71

By Sunday my cyclists will be an least another 0.5AV higher (maybe 0.75 depending on pop timings), so we'll be looking ok, particularly with Frenkie's as well.

Well well...we are again 2nd! It seems that this season, Spain would be Spain and they will win easy, we have to fight for the 2nd position!

Indeed, at the moment a great 2nd place in the ranking by countries.  8)
And race 6 is also a time trial with just one hill in it.
Then hopefully again the best in the day ranking (yesterday also, although just 30 points before Spain).

But also 2 cobblehills races and it is very close in the battle of the podiumplaces.
In previous season (C^ = cobblehills section) : FHHC^C^ 198km = 0 points.
In season 2 ( the world championship season  :)) ) : HHC^C^C^ 179km = 250 points ( 6th and 13th )
But results of season 2 can be worthless, too long ago, talent rating and how good a manager trains an Aus.talent can make a huge difference.

I promoted one very very similar few days ago, and he was not sold even by 1000€ ... at this point of the season, is hard to sell a new 19yo guy, because rest of 19yo ones has much higher climbing skill

Hi all, we are still in the north of Europe, in the Benelux, now in Belgium, in a hard cobble-hills race, with a rainy and cold day. We will start in Bornem and finishing in Geraardsbergen.

Our 9:
Steve Sampson CopenHell
Gerard Bell NervionBike
Colin Ryan beerkes
Kirk Trump $Tourmalet
Lenny Pinkney Wiggo_pupils
Charlie Brubaker DeRodeVod
Nate Douglas SentinelChickens
Elliot Neville Manicomicos_Cycling_Team
Alex Byers EuskaPiero

Words from our National Manager:
"We have 3 stages left for finishing the World Cup and one of them is theoretically favorable to us (the time trial). We enter into the decisive phase in second position. Spain seems unattainable, the potential is enormous compared to ours. Our objective is to try to maintain that second position, it will be complicated because we have a few teams very very close and the next stage was one of those that we didn't manage to score last season. This season we have a different leader, and we are going to try to do it differently to see if we can get a good result. After the stage we will calibrate our options again, a priori I have good feelings."
