Congrats to Australia for winning its 4th consecutive team title and its umpteenth overall. The Down Under Dynasty could go on for a while.
Thanks
Four-time defending champs Australia had an off day and sits in 14th with 40 pts but we all know a significant point explosion is forthcoming for the Aussies on the flat TT on 6 Feb, unless the team manager forgets to enter any riders. LOL. Yup, not going to happen, so we'll all be relegated to fighting for #2.
C'est la vie.
Indeed, I guess the Australian teamcaptain had a heat stroke in this race with a temperature of 40ÂșC.
He started harder than the USA teamcaptain, but could not follow the big front peleton despite being one of the top favorites.
The upcoming mountain race is interesting, due to the storm, and probably the race that suits Australia the least of all 7 NT races.
The USA improved in the mountains, because I see that there is another 24yo top climber, besides my 26yo American top climber.
Unfortunately there is not a flat section in the upcoming mountain race, what would be very benificial to Beckham.
But I guess that in this stormy NT race 2, all NT managers have to expect the unexpected, including many surprising results.
Good luck this NT season 22, Kekipi !
