His teammate Bernal 2nd on 0:15", Alaphilippe 3rd on 0:18", Poels 4th on 0:29" and 5th Herrada as winner of the chasing group on 0:48"

CFF League stage 3 winner = Xavier Giné   8)
Vos is the new GC leader with 1 more stage to go.

Mollema wins stage 1.

CFF League stage 1 winner = Kalarratas   8)
Because Kalarratas is mentioned many times due to his amazing season start,
let's mention also that nr2 ophiuko takes the lead in the youth GC, and that nr3 azerite takes the lead in the mountain GC.

A great solo victory of Brambilla in the final stage was enough to win the final GC as well. 2nd GC Woods on 0:05" and 3rd GC Mollema on 0:06"

CFF League stage 3 winner = Cosminelul   8)

GC winner = Kalarratas  8)
Kalarratas wins also the sprint jersey.
Cosminelul and azerite, both win the mountain jersey.
ophiuko wins the youth jersey.

Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) won a frantic, wind-affected, echelon-strewn opening stage of the UAE Tour.
The first race of the season with a World Tour qualification.

The Dutchman out-spinted David Dekker (Jumbo-Visma) and Michael Mørkøv (Deceuninck-QuickStep) in a small, 23-man group that formed as crosswinds wreaked havoc on the race earlier in the stage.

In the absence of top sprinters Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal), Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-QuickStep) and Pascal Ackermann (Bora-Hansgrohe), who had all been distanced earlier in the crosswinds, Van der Poel’s sprint was quick enough to claim his first win of the road season only three weeks after he won the cyclo-cross World Championships.

In the GC battle, João Almeida (Deceuninc-QuickStep), Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) and Adam Yates (Ineos Grenadiers) emerged as early favourites after all of their major rivals were dumped out of overall contention in the wind.
After eventually sitting up after a desperate chase in the wind, all the chasers, who had been separated into various smaller groups during the day, ultimately finished together in a large group eight and a half minutes down.

CFF League stage 1 winner = Animatoca   8)

stage 2 ( time trial ) top 10 results :

1        Ganna, Filippo        Ineos Grenadiers    0h 13' 56''
2        Bissegger, Stefan        EF Education - Nippo    + 00' 14''
3        Bjerg, Mikkel                UAE Team Emirates    + 00' 21''
4        Pogačar, Tadej        UAE Team Emirates    + 00' 24''
5        Sánchez, Luis León     Astana - Premier Tech    + 00' 30''
6        Almeida, João        Deceuninck - Quick-Step    + 00' 30''
7        Walscheid, Max        Team Qhubeka Assos    + 00' 32''
8        Bod, Stefan de        Astana - Premier Tech    + 00' 33''
9        Martínez, Daniel        Ineos Grenadiers    + 00' 36''
10        Brändle, Matthias        Israel Start-Up Nation    + 00' 38''

Pogačar is the new GC leader. Almeida 2nd on 0:05" and Cattaneo 3rd on 0:18"

The big news of today was already before this stage 2 ; a staff member of Alpecin-Fenix had a positive Covid-19 test.
What means that the only pro-tour team of the UAE tour is out of the race, including stage 1 winner van der Poel.

CFF League stage 2 winner = Animatoca  8)
