Title: WCS 2019
Post by: Vos on January 12, 2019, 07:57:36 PM
The old forum is deleted, so from now on the WCS will be on this forum.
For those who want to play the WCS, this is how to participate :

Sagan wins a stage in the Tour Down Under of 2018.

A new season starts in the World Cycling Stats !   8)

For new participants who want to join the cycling for fun subleague in WCS :

1. Click this link :  http://www.worldcyclingstats.com/en/games

2. Create an account ( it is free ).

3. Join the cycling for fun subleague.
Click a tour or race that is open for participation, then click leagues, now you see a list of all subleagues, search for cycling for fun and click it.
To join, you have to use this code/password : SMJVO3G5
Participants who already joined the cycling for fun subleague do not have to use the password,
they just have to click the cycling for fun subleague and are automatically in.

4. You can change the language ; at the top of your WCS start page ( English, Dutch, Spanish or French ).

5. To play this game costs almost no time, just a few minutes to pick 15 cyclists and answer the extra questions.
You can also read a preview of the tour or race, a lot of previews are online. But this is not necessary, in my experience sometimes better results when you do the 15 picks + extra questions very fast without reading a preview.

6. After you picked your 15 cyclists and answered the extra questions ; nothing more to do, just relax and enjoy how your picks are doing. Do not forget to activate the 15 picks and extra questions with the select button at the bottom of your screen.

7. Enjoy and have fun !  :)

next tour :
(https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/logos/8abb6ca97e11114a4e4395f49de88023.png)  1 day and 3 hours left to join.

In 2019 the number of CFF participants is way lower as in 2018 and 2017.
For example the Tirreno ; in the previous two seasons twice as many CFF participants.
I assume and hope that is because of the low activity due to the changes in the CFF game the past half year.

Now the new CFF3 game starts, I hope there will be enough CFF participants in the WCS again. Good luck and have fun everyone !  :)

Volta a Catalunya : So far just a few CFF participants.
In 2018 there were 16 CFF participants in this tour. Txonys was the victor.
In 2017 oldmen won this tour in a CFF League of 15 CFF participants.

3 stage wins in Langkawi weren't enough to beat you in the General Classification. Your early 'mountain points' from Angus Lyons were decisive.

I would have preferred Dumoulin to be still in the race as a top contender he is although his abandon might benefit me somehow in the end because I have never ever performed well in GT'S fantasy games  ::) ;D

next tours :
(https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/logos/3a9bbfa6631a08d4892830ff7f5f0045.png)  1 day and 3 hours left to join.

It seems there is a break of a few weeks after joining these 2 tours. However, sometimes WCS adds a race or tour at the last moment.
For now the next tour (after ZLM Tour) is on the 5th of July, and one day later the Tour de France starts.  8)

In this very hot stage again a victory of Ewan. Fuglsang crashed 26km before the finish and is out of the Tour.

CFF League stage 16 winner, and his 5th (!) stage victory this Tour = (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/nl.png) MarnixStar   8)
(https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/jerseys/jersey_green.png) MarnixStar is the new leader in the sprint classification of all WCS.  8)
It is clear he is the Peter Sagan of CFF and hopefully also for MarnixStar the green jersey in the final sprint classification of all WCS.

In the GC it is still extreme close between pizzaboys (yellow jersey) and Patrick Kok (2nd).  :)
A little gap towards WinterIsComing (3rd), MarnixStar (4th) and Kalarratas (5th) and this group has a little gap towards the others.
But with 5 more stages to go (and the question-points) it is perhaps still possible someone out of the top 5 will win the Tour de France.
For example PieterJanVB (8th) who won the last 2 mountain stages.

Great solo victory of Quintana.
Also Bernal did great and won 32 seconds in the GC, he is now 2nd in the GC.
Alaphilippe could not follow the other GC contenders in the last km of the Galibier, but with his amazing descent that was no problem.

Egan Bernal (Team Ineos) was the big winner during a shortened stage 19 of the Tour de France. Although the jury ruled there would be no official stage winner, Bernal took the yellow jersey after the race was cancelled on the descent of the Col d’Iseran. Hail and ice in Tignes, as well as a landslide blocking the road between Val d'Isère and Tignes, made the final kilometres of the stage impossible to pass by bike.

In contrast to the real TdF, in the CFF League of WCS there was a stage winner = (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/pl.png) TeamElrosportu   8)
MarnixStar is still leading the sprint classification of all 5.864 WCS participants.
pizzaboys is still the GC leader in the CFF League, but Patrick Kok came closer and is just 24 (!) points behind.
2 more stages to go.

Stage 20 is changed due to landslides, they skipped the first 2 mountains and the stage is now just 59km (including the 33km final climb).

next tour starts very soon :

In the CFF League it is already certain that MarnixStar will win the green jersey.
And it also seems that TeamElrosportu will win the mountain jersey and that Kalarratas will win the youth jersey.

The just 22yo Belgian toptalent Bjorg Lambrecht died after a crash in the 3rd stage of the Tour de Pologne.  :(
This season he had some excellent results such as 4th Flèche Wallonne, 6th Amstel Gold Race and youth jersey winner Dauphiné.
RIP.  :'(

The Tour de l'Avenir ( = Tour of the Future ) has a lot of impressive victors.
But in 2007 is was the first time that this was a tour for 23yo and younger. Before it was 25yo and younger, and more back into history it was even possible that all riders could ride this tour. For example Laurent Fignon won this tour in 1988 when he was already 28yo.

You're welcome and thanks for your kind remark, Kalarratas.  :)
Also thanks for your participation, because without CFF participants this game would be nothing.  ;)

And funny to see that a bit later as this forum post of yours, we both won a classic race together.
The first time ever that a classic race was won by 2 participants.

(https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/logos/fb0500dc309e29aa9138de3064db409e.png)  20½ hours left to join.

Just like in the previous 2 seasons there is again the World Champion Trophy.
How to win ?
The one who wins the most WC races (there are 4 WC races) wins,
and when there is an equal amount of victories, the person who won last will win the World Champion Trophy.

The first one starts in 5 days.

Suddenly there are 5 new participants in the CFF League today.
Unknown to me and very suspicious to me that it is suddenly 5 at the same time. That never happened.
And it seems that 2 of them have no friendly intentions at all if you look at the very abusive comments they made on the WCS forum.
For the record ; they are wrong in their very abusive accusations towards that person.
He is an active CFF manager and known to me (and probably known to a lot of other CFF managers too), and I know his team in the CFF game.

I don't know how to delete abusive comments on that WCS forum, what is not used by the real CFF participants.
The CFF manager who started WCS ; I think he stopped with the CFF game (and also WCS) several months ago, maybe longer.
So he cannot do anything about it if he is not active anymore.

But I can take this disciplinary action towards the 2 new CFF participants who wrote the very abusive comments on the WCS forum :
# Their results in the CFF League will not count and not mentioned. To me they both are banned for results in the CFF League.

I assume that every real CFF participant agrees with this disciplinary action. Let me know if you have a (different) opinion about this.

In a windy and rainy Yorkshire the u23 race seems to be decided by a small group (7 cyclists) who sprinted for glory.
The Dutchman Eekhoff won the thrilling sprint, and for 15 minutes he was the u23 world champion.
However, he was disqualified because according to the judges ; after a crash, Eekhoff held on to a team car too long.
Official result u23 World Champion road race = 1st Battistella (ITA), 2nd Bissegger (SUI) and 3rd Pidcock (GB).

Good to read your post, Kalarratas, thanks.  :)

And more disciplinairy action is taken by me,
because I see all those 4 new participants in our league are together in another league with the name :
"Death to ...... (the name of our CFF participant and another person who also seems to be the target of their bullying)".

The 5th one seems to me a multi account of one of those 4 bullies.
The "contact me" function of WCS does not work.
If someone takes action to delete those new bully participants of the CFF League, I would appreciate that.
Maybe it is possible to contact WCS on facebook or twitter, or mention it on their sites.

Anyway ; to me those new CFF participants are all banned of the CFF League and their results do not count.
So this means there is a new winner of the WC u23. I adjusted that in the previous post.
Too late now for me to post the results of the WC women's race, but I will post it today.

Thanks a lot, edu5  :)

About the 4 mentally disturbed bullies who joined the CFF League ;
The season has almost ended, so the best is to ignore them. I will ignore them for sure in the WCS posts and season trophies.  :)

Perhaps something is wrong or something else is happening with WCS, for example they plan to stop this free game. (let's hope not)
Because it is impossible to contact WCS. And I have never seen a subleague with an extreme abusive name like the 4 bullies have now that excists for many days now. I've seen weird subleague names before (and way less negative as this one), but one day later it was removed. Unfortunately that is not the case now. That is why I suspect something is happening in WCS. But I did not check facebook or twitter or other resources, so it is just speculation of me and I could be wrong of course. I'm too lazy to check that and not worth the effort because this season has almost ended.

If there will be a CFF League in 2020 (and if I will be playing CFF and WCS in 2020), I will try to resolve this before the season starts.
Because I assume that the official organizor of the CFF League can delete and block participants.
Right now that is wacco (CFF teamname absynnt and WCS name PieterJanVB), but he stopped with CFF and WCS in early spring of 2019.
So an active real CFF participant has to take over as organizor of the CFF League.
Anyway, not important now, it can be resolved on January 1, 2020, 2 weeks before the first tour starts (TDU).
For now, ignore them and have fun the last few races of this season. :)

And this season the same as in previous seasons, a low number of CFF participants after the WC races.
But that means more chance to win for the die-hard CFF participants. :))

Alvaro Hodeg (Deceuninck-QuickStep) won the rain-soaked Sparkassen Münsterland Giro one-day race, a bike throw to the line giving him a half-wheel advantage on Pascal Ackermann (Bora-Hansgrohe).

Belgian national champion Tim Merlier (Corendon-Circus) was third, with Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates) fourth in a hectic and high-speed sprint. Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma) suffered a late punctured and did not contest the sprint.

A crash sparked by Hodeg's lead-out man with two hundred metres to go took down several riders and scattered others across the road. Florian Sénéchal seemed to blame Max Walscheid of Team Sunweb for the crash, hitting out at the German several times after the finish before his Deceuninck-QuickStep teammates dragged him away.

Hodeg was unsure if he had won but then celebrated with his teammates after being told he had taken his seventh victory of 2019. Deceuninck-QuickStep have now won 66 races so far this year, moving closer to the 73 victories of 2018.

"It's amazing to finish the season like this," Hodeg said after taking several drinks from a long glass of beer on the podium.

"I'm really happy because I had the support of team all day. It was a hard race and really, really cold, but I did my best. I like to race in the rain," he said.

"I didn't see the crash because I was in front. I knew I had to take the last corner in the top five because it would be hard to move back up in rain. We did that and then I won. At first I wasn't sure if I'd won, but I did. I trained hard for Worlds but it didn’t work out. This is some kind of compensation."

The 193km race around Munster was the first of many post-World Championships races as the European season winds down.

The race was the final outing for Andre Greipel in Arkea-Samsic colours and perhaps the last race of his long career.

It was Mathieu van der Poel's last race of his road season before he focuses on cyclo-cross, and the Dutchman went on the attack with 75km to go, trying to chase down the early break of the race. He upped the speed with several big efforts but was never let go and only succeeded in bring the race back together, with Bora-Hansgrohe riding for Ackermann.

As the riders seemed to wait for a sprint finish, Brian van Goethem (Lotto Soudal) tried a solo attack with 20km to go. He had been in the early break of the day but refused to give up.

It was a valiant effort, but the Belgian only served as bait for the sprinters' teams to chase. He refused to ease and was only caught with 400 metres to go as the sprint teams jostled for position on the rain-soaked streets of central Munster but was fortunate to avoid the crash sparked by Sénéchal.

Milano-Torino
WCS made a mistake in this 1-day race.
When it was just opened, WCS awarded every cyclist with just 1 star. Later WCS changed that.
But because of this mistake Patrick Kok has 15 cyclists and it says 15 stars used, but in fact he used 54 stars.
So he will probably win this race, because 35 stars where allowed. The other real CFF participants used 35 stars or less.

My solution ; Patrick Kok is lucky he might profit of this WCS-mistake, so his victory will count.
But it is obvious not a fair victory, so the 2nd real CFF participant will get a victory too.

Mas wins queen-stage 4 and Gaviria wins stage 5.
Mas is the GC leader with 1 more stage to go. 2nd GC is Martinez on just 0:05"
It is looking good for Mas that he will win this tour, because in the final stage just 2 little hills and the last 30km are flat.

CFF League :
stage 4 winner = (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/nl.png) WinterIsComing   8)
stage 5 winner = (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/nl.png) Vos   :)
Vos is the GC leader. 57 points ahead of the nr3 pizzaboys, thé rival in the Divine Champions Trophy ( Vos 11 vs pizzaboys 10 ).

Also the Royal Sprint Trophy has the same 2 contenders ( pizzaboys 12 vs Vos 11 ).
It could be that I will win this one too, at the moment 1st in the sprint classification in China.

In stage 5 Kalarratas lost his 2nd place in the Emperor of Stage Wins Trophy ( now 2nd Vos 48 vs 3rd Kalarratas 48 ).
So Kalarratas has to win stage 6, the very last race of 2019, to get the 2nd place back in this season trophy that pizzaboys won.

Kalarratas is 2nd in this stage with just 3 points difference.

Vos wins the sprint- and youth jersey.
Lemosteam wins the mountain jersey.
Because of these results in the very last race of 2019 ; Vos wins the Divine Champions Trophy :) ánd the Royal Sprint Trophy. :)

Title: Re: WCS 2019
Post by: Vos on January 14, 2020, 10:14:25 AM
I see that some CFF managers are already registered for the first tour of 2020 in WCS that starts in 6 days.
When there are enough participants in 2020, maybe a good idea that I make a WCS topic again.

One problem ; the 4 mentally disturbed bullies who joined the CFF League at the end of 2019, now joined the CFF League again.
See their messages in the WCS forum of our CFF League, although no real CFF participant uses that forum ( keep it that way, please ).
Also in 2020 they made a seperate league with an extreme abusive league name towards one of our real CFF participants who is clearly the target of their extreme abusive bully-behaviour.

I assume that no real CFF participants want them in our League.
And I cannot imagine they are CFF managers, I'm almost 100% sure they are not.
To have them in the CFF league is also very bad advertisement for CFF.
Also it makes it a little bit more difficult for me to post the results, because I have to ignore their results what takes time, I cannot do it as fast as I did in the previous years. And besides this, it is annoying to see their names everytime.

How to solve this ? I don't know.

# The CFF manager who started the CFF League stopped in the spring of 2019 in CFF and WCS.
WCS name = PieterJanVB, and CFF name = wacco, CFF teamname = absynnt. He is Belgian.
He is the administrator and the only one who can delete someone of the CFF League, or change the code.
Does anyone has contact with / or knows the email of the administrator ?

The CFF forum is public / for everyone to read. So it is easy to see the code that the administrator published on the forum. What I did too by copying his forum text, but this aside. With a new code this problem is solved, this time of course more secret, just known to CFF managers who join the CFF League, and new participants/CFF managers who wants to join, can ask the code by pm of one of the real CFF participants.

# Another solution is to contact WCS. But that feature of the WCS page does not work.
I have real doubts about WCS lately, as I mentioned a few months ago. It is really weird that they allow the league names to excists, that those 4 mentally disturbed persons made. In the past such abusive league names were deleted after a few days.
But I see on the WCS page that WCS is active on Twitter.
Maybe a possibility to contact WCS by Twitter and explain this situation so that they can solve it.
But I don't know how to do that. Maybe someone with more social media experience and a Twitter account can try to contact WCS ?
Or maybe someone knows another way to contact WCS ?

# Also a solution can be to create a new CFF League in WCS (with a secret code this time, so not posted on a public forum).
The disadvantage is that all previous results of the CFF League cannot be seen in the new CFF League.

# We can also continue with this CFF League and ignore those 4 bullies.
But this is not a real solution and I mentioned the disadvantages of this already.

Questions :

1. Will you participate in WCS of 2020 ? ( sometimes participating is also good enough )
2. What do you think about this situation and what do you think the best option is ?
3. Do you know how to solve this situation ? ( by knowing the administrator PieterJanVB/wacco, or by knowing how to contact WCS )

Of course, this text only applies if there will be enough CFF participants in the CFF League.

Let me highlight the most important question / the question that is easy to answer.

1. Will you participate in WCS of 2020 ? ( sometimes participating is also good enough )

If possible, you could make a new CFF league there, have it public, and just kick the rejects if/when they join.  And everybody delists themselves from the old league.

I think the same as edu5. Quickest way to solve it is to create a new league, and ignore the bullies. Perhaps you can give moderating rights to more members, to be less vulnerable when someone leaves the game?
Title: Re: WCS 2019
Post by: Vos on January 14, 2020, 11:57:53 PM
Maybe my text shows that I think too complicated about this issue.
Explanation =
# I really dislike it that this cannot be solved in the proper, right way because the contact us feature of WCS does not work.
# Also I really dislike it that WCS allows such bullies to excist.
# I even have a big problem to participate WCS now with such a policy, or more likely, suddenly no policy at all.
But maybe I have to make an exception because we had fun in the CFF League for many years, and we could have again in a new league.
# Creating a new league is of course not righteous, because now we must adapt to mentally disturbed bullies.
But although I really dislike this, I can stand above this fact.
# Final explanation of my text was of course to find another solution as to create a new league.

Anyway, I agree with- and like the reactions in this topic a lot. Thanks.  :)

Probably the best and easiest solution ( it might even be the only solution ) to create a new league.
And I already thought of the very good proposal of WiC about the moderating rights to more members and not just one. To avoid such a situation of happening again. Let's hope it is possible to do that. If not, I probably can think of something else that makes sure this does not happen again.

I assume and hope it is possible to create a new league, because it seems to me there is something wrong with WCS, also in a moral point of view.
I will look into that tomorrow (others can do that too), because it is too late now and I'm too tired. So not now to avoid mistakes, for example I see just now I did not select a teamcaptain for stage 4 TDU, ups^^
Probably I will ask help on this forum with creating the new league, so we all can decide together about some things. Hopefully again such sensible reactions as I read now.

Great job, Kalarratas, thanks !  :)
I will look at WCS later this evening or tomorrow morning, I have not much time now.
Great to read that it is possible that there can be more as 1 administrator.
I did not expect that, and that is the reason why I asked you to create a new league.
Because there can be a reason why I am not the perfect only administrator.
Title: Re: WCS 2019
Post by: Vos on January 16, 2020, 01:38:19 PM
Maybe I should wait till Kalarratas posts something about the new league.
It is up to him to announce his self-invented good name of the new league officially in this topic.

But for those who don't want to wait and already want to register ; the new CFF league is a fact and I already joined.
So you can ask me or Kalarratas by pm the code to join also ( ingame pm and forum pm are both possible ).

And for every CFF participant, keep the code secret and do not mention it on this forum.
It seems to me that everyone is allowed to give the code to a trustworthy CFF manager who wants to join.
But maybe Kalarratas has some information or "rules" about this.
And if something goes wrong, now we have 2 active administrators, so, no problem.

Because Kalarratas appointed me as co-administrator, and that function works because I added the web address of CFF next to the new name of the CFF League. Good advertisement for the normal game. And the old CFF League has the web address too, so if the new CFF League does not have it, it will look if the old one is the official CFF League, but of course, the new one is the official one.

Although I did not sign up for the old CFF League, I'm automatically in the old CFF League as well.
I don't know how to unlist of the old CFF League, to me this seems not possible.
If someone knows how to unlist, let everyone know in this topic.
To me it is not a real problem that everyone is automatically listed in the old CFF league as well.
But maybe other CFF participants have another opinion about this.

I will make a new WCS 2020 topic this evening or tomorrow.

I don't know if I will participate every race, but I would be interested to join now and then.

I send you the password by ingame pm, Rico. Have fun and good luck !

Maybe good to point out for the forum readers and (future) CFF participants in WCS :
There are many CFF participants who join now and then, and not all the time.
Some when they have the time and are in the mood to try to win a race or tour in WCS, and some join only the important races / tours.

Of course less chance to win a season trophy, but the real challenge in WCS is of course to win a race or tour.
And yes, also in 2020 there will be the CFF season trophies.
A good opportunity for me to post it as example, because never I was so succesful as in 2019 :) :

Well at the moment we are 5 of us already joining the league so it isn't that bad for these first races of the years, hopefully some more will join us throughout the season and when great tours loom as usual.

Anyway TDU and La Tropicale already are a hard nut to crack when choosing riders at this point,so fun is guaranteed ;D

I am in!  :) Does anyone know if and how it is possible to unregister the old cff-subleague?

No, see earlier forum posts. To make it easy, I posted the quotes below this text.
And welcome in the new CFF subleague CYCLING FOR FUN 2.0  8)

Maybe good to keep an eye on the old CFF League if there is a real CFF participant who is listed there but not in the new CFF League.
It could be that such a person did not read this topic or the new topic WCS 2020 that I created minutes ago.
According to me only needed to keep an eye on that in the beginning of this season.
edit ; And maybe also before the start of the first big tour, the Giro. Because one or a very few CFF participants join only the big tours.

Although I did not sign up for the old CFF League, I'm automatically in the old CFF League as well.
I don't know how to unlist of the old CFF League, to me this seems not possible.
If someone knows how to unlist, let everyone know in this topic.

And about unlisting or deleting the previous league seems out of our reach at the moment so It may serve as a remainder for previous seasons records.

Good thinking of Kalarratas.
For example ; now it is still possible to make an all-time ranking of real CFF participants.
Maybe I or someone else will do that at the end of this season. The effort of one time per season filtering out some people is not a problem.

I haven't heard from him since too...let's see if he is just way too busy for some days.

Yes, guess so. He is actively playing, so I guess he will show up again sooner or later. Meanwhile, CFF 2.0 is doing its job. Game on.  :)

The past days I had almost no activity in the game. No worries, it was temporarily.

This afternoon I will make uptdates of WCS and also this afternoon I will read and react to the unread pm's.
