:) Very good news to Australia ( and to me, and to CFF ) :

I suspect that in previous season, Zatarra did not had any selections since the Tour de Suisse.
But I see now that his team has a Tour Down Under selection. Welcome back Zatarra !  8)
Great to see that your break did not had consequences ; your team finished as 28th with 3.960 points.
( That is fortunate :), because there were 1A seasons where this total amount of points was not good enough to stay in 1A. )

Thanks Vos. I indeed suffered from loss of interest. Pity, since I have some promising (Australian) tour riders. I will try to maintain my interest. It will be hard to stay in 1st division once again. There are only a handful of managers that were present in 1a for more seasons than I, so I try to keep up... Vos :).

I'm very happy with this win (and 12th place for Ruup). I thought I made a mistake training my GC riders without TT, expecting a bit more grand tours without a flat TT. Luckily now on his 29th KvdG was able to compete in one that hadn't a TT at all, showing that he is the best one. Of course, also the lack of a few tough mountain races contributed, but it doesn't ruin the feeling of satisfaction. Mission accomplished. Time to build an other type of GC rider to hopefully be able to win the other Grand Tours as well.

Thanks Vos!

Yes. One stage to go with a gap of over a minute. This should be doable. But what you say; the wind will make it unpredictable. There are opportunities to break the peloton earlier than in s5 and then a minute or - in your case - 22 seconds is nothing.

Good luck in your battle for 6th.

Thanks Vos! KvdG does like the hills, so if you ask me, this should be doable. But let's not make mistakes.

I had the same weird feeling about the sprint race. Insane. KvdG ruined his time advantage he had over his competitors. Now very curious about the upcoming two stages. Hopefully not too much loss in the mountain stage and hopefully some good gains in the flatcobble one. Then it's up to the best Hiller of the top GC contenders to decided the winner. All is on a handkerchief at the moment, haha!

Yes, indeed. Egbert 'King' Koning has become part of team he himself described as "better than Combuijs". He will be one of our main talents for the next tour generation. Hopefully he is as talented as he says he is. We will find out soon.

(By the way, I'm not Belgian. I'm Dutch).

Great season Vos! Difficult to beat.

For all the aussie managers, I'll be buying cobblers this season. Potentially to train cobble-hillers with sprint, so it would be nice if they have a bit of everything.

Good to hear! Just like my 23-yo Armstrong, but he is lacking a bit of explo...

Anyway, I'll be training 19yo climbers next season. Hope to make a few good tour riders or pure climbers if my selection shows that's the better option.

My helper's tactic failed and yet succeeded as well. +1 in EP for Balenko made him ride too fast for Stegmaier ( :o ), while they could challenge the exact same riders. With back-up help from lower healt riders Ruup, VdG and Austa Stegmaier managed to return to Balenko in s3 so he could get the crucial help in s4. In that section +2 EP was not good enough for Balenko to stay with Stegmaier in s4 ( :o again), but in the end finishing 8th is more than satisfying for Stegmaier.

I just noticed that you mentioned my team in this topic. It will be a close call between our teams. You're 45 points ahead with only the two WCs left... Good luck!

Well, it is not decided yet ;
You have TT specialist Zwinkels versus my hills specialist Rubiera, who has a too low stamina for the WC race.
And Rubiera has just a 23yo helper with extreme low health who is not allowed to rest of his manager, even not for the WC race.
Zwinkels is bought a week ago, perhaps just in time that he has TC bonus.
Good luck in the time trial, Zatarra !

Zwinkels indeed had TC and pretty good staff/circumstances. Yet, he finished 30th for just 50 points. I don't think my 6* hillers will score 34 more points than your Rubiera, Vos.

In hindsight I shouldn't have sold Caldeira just yet. Becoming the Aussie champion is a goal, but I just didn't expect it to be manageable this season. Kasper van der Goor did surprisingly well.

There are less than 100 points of difference to decide who will be the next NT manager...  ;D

10º      SPORTLIFE   7144
11º      Zatarra   7062

Lol, oh dear... I better not with the Aussie championship then.

On a serious note; I'm not going to win. SPORTLIFE has some great hillers that Zatarra is currently lacking.
