Dixon finished as 7th, and Australia also 7th in the day ranking.
Still 11th in the ranking by countries, this time together with Spain.

Next week a flat time trial on the other side of the Pyrenees in and around Banyoles.

u20 lists ( 48 cyclists )

Australia has a number of good 19 yo's, but also missing riders in a few disciplines for example hills and sprint.

Sorry about this, but Will Crickton has fired, was not very very good and I need some spaces...the good thing is that now I have this 2 guys:

Fraser Slipper   Age : 19   Wage : 822
Stamina : 58   Sprint : 1   Climbing : 69
Flat : 39   Cobblestone : 2   Technique : 0
Downhill : 65   Hills : 50   Aggressiveness : 62
Time Trial : 20   Teamwork : 52   Experience : 0

Stephen Donaldson   Age : 19   Wage : 815
Stamina : 50   Sprint : 7   Climbing : 69
Flat : 3   Cobblestone : 17   Technique : 11
Downhill : 50   Hills : 67   Aggressiveness : 37
Time Trial : 24   Teamwork : 74   Experience : 0

I can never understand why Spain doesn't win everything.  It's like there's a special handicap on them or something.
I don't think we have any chance at points in the TT (my TTers weren't training TT until this season, as you know).  Will message you.

I don't think we have any chance at points in the TT
I hope you are not right, but it is possible. However, I think that Butcher might be good enough to score points. But this thought is based on nothing because I cannot estimate how good the foreign competition is.
The number 2 of Australia, your TT-specialist Levin, is probably not good enough (yet) to score points because of his current TT skill.

I just looked into what Australia can expect of NT race 9, the hills-TT.
Hoping that the Australian TT-specialists are better there. But I don't think that is the case.
I'm even more optimistic about the flat TT than the hills TT.
Hank Kewell (Frenkie) and Owen Acree (Aurora) have the same hills-TT GV  and both are way better as the other Aussies.
You can see Acree, so now you know why I think there will be no points in NT race 9.
So, let's hope there will be some points in the flat TT.

Top 10 in the ranking by countries will be very difficult to achieve this season. Positive is that it can only go better in the future.
However, Australia is 14th in the ranking ; number of cyclists per nation.
And has just the nr8 hills, the nr6 (hills)sprint and one mountain time trialist in the dream team. That is far too little at the moment.
But that can change because of good training and talent rating, and it can change in about 4 seasons and every season after that, because of new generations.

Butcher won't.  Levin will most likely be number 1 TTer for Australia before the week is out.  The top international 20yo TTers will be around 4.5AV higher (at least 50ST, 65FL, 65TQ, 90+TT) than both of them at this point in time.  Next season Levin & Trump will possibly manage top 20s, then top 10s the season after.

and today...other 2 "trainable" guys...

Paddy Teinert   Age : 19   Wage : 840
Stamina : 21   Sprint : 9   Climbing : 63
Flat : 65   Cobblestone : 17   Technique : 53
Downhill : 31   Hills : 60   Aggressiveness : 72
Time Trial : 16   Teamwork : 27   Experience : 0

Jasper Ablett   Age : 19   Wage : 832
Stamina : 54   Sprint : 9   Climbing : 67
Flat : 25   Cobblestone : 41   Technique : 42
Downhill : 55   Hills : 35   Aggressiveness : 3
Time Trial : 26   Teamwork : 70   Experience : 0

My plan is to start training climbing after Joe get 90 hills

Joe Ryan   Age : 20   Wage : 819
Stamina : 56   Sprint : 26   Climbing : 71
Flat : 50   Cobblestone : 20   Technique : 14
Downhill : 60   Hills : 86   Aggressiveness : 74
Time Trial : 6   Teamwork : 6   Experience : 15

The only "problem" is that other guys that are good, would start to train at 70%, but are not good enough to focus my plan on them.

P.S: Oh, I reached the max of riders in the team, so Paddy has been fired

WOW, very suprising and excellent results  8) 8) 8) :
Trump 4th, Levin 5th and Butcher 9th.
I guess stamina (and flat ?) counted a lot in this TT race, and the TT-skill not so much as usual.
Another possibility is that Trump and Levin had a lot of luck.

Happy with these results and 510 (!) points in this race.  :)
That gives a total of 860 points and Australia now even 3rd in the ranking by countries, just 95 points below the number 1 Spain.
And before this time trial, Australia and Spain were both 11th.
3 more NT races to go. Next week a cobblehills NT race in Belgium and the Netherlands.

I'm astounded that my guys got points, with Trump currently having 74TT & Levin 80TT.  They shouldn't have been that competitive.  All I can say, is all of the other teams training TTers, your guys are going to take regular beatings in several seasons time.
