Australia NT Season 12
« on: September 11, 2020, 10:28:21 AM »
We're coming up towards the end of an era, the winds of change are marching.  Why not make a change yourself, like Zatarra last season & TeaMetal this season, and join us Down Under.

Our seasonal table of best Aussie cyclists plus up & coming cyclists will be posted shortly, but first, welcome TeaMetal & anybody else who joins us this season; I trust the motel quarantine has been up to standard, and we get to see you competing under the Southern Cross on Monday.

AUSTRALIAN NT - Season 12

Tour De Wine : Clara Valley - Barossa Valley - McLaren Vale : South Australia

Welcome to season 12.  With Vos having secured himself at the top of CFF's elite NT managers, it's now my job to attempt to repeat his championship winning achievements.  We're aided in this by the first climbing-TT NT race (where we have two top tier cyclists), along with the flat-TT & flat-cobbles.
Three races with great prospects, but first several races where we seek to over-perform, decent points to two of these (most likely hills & sprint), would help put at least one hand on back to back NT titles.

Current Australian cyclist rankings below.

Just a quick look at how close the flat-TT statistics are (see attachment).  Note, the stats will be a bit different by NT race 4, Workman will leap to 10th on Monday, and then my team will be switching to TT training, where my cyclists have room to grow.

Btw: For my own team, I'm seeking 19 year old Aussie TTers.

Good to see Jasper and Steve Odom in the tops. I'm happy because of Steve is training very well, and he has "low" stamina, that is something that I'm going to start training soon, so he can improve a lot with that.

Steve Odom   Age : 24   Wage : 586
Stamina : 67   Sprint : 10   Climbing : 18
Flat : 97   Cobblestone : 43   Technique : 98
Downhill : 51   Hills : 9   Aggressiveness : 9
Time Trial : 100   Teamwork : 68   Experience : 44

Was looking at a comparison with my TTers at age 24, and Ben Mitchum at the same age was 93.69.  Of course Mitchum would have had around 96-97 TT at that point in time, and Steve Odom will statistically drop around 0.44av at 1am Monday (as will Iverson & Morrison), but it's a useful comparison.
Anyway.

Race 1

Quote
Selections :
Austin Burton   30   Facha_Bartolo (leader?)
Vinnie Coleman   29   galegospolabici (?)
Royce Henderson   30   Handest.
John Jones   30   CC_Porco_Jones. (free role?)
Stu Beal   30   $Tourmalet.
Tyler Walker   30   NervionBike
Steve Owens   30   FrançaiseDesJeux
Dudley Judd   24   Telleriarte
Gerard Shields   23   Quickstepbronx
Prospects: John Jones hasn't progressed in the five seasons since I've seen him, and has relatively declined around 2AV in comparison to other hillers, none of whom are near the top of hiller rankings (and some with woeful experience).  On the other hand, he did manage 6th in race 1 last season with Vos.  Of course we all know that Vos has golden hands as NT manager, so we'll see.  But we have faith.

Results:
27   John Jones      30   0: 29"

Thank you for the welcome wishes! Yes, the motel quarantine was fine (as long as there is Internet connection, I won't complain). Looking forward to receiving my welcome gift after the quarantine  8)

And the first blunder of the season: does not make any sense to promote a rider after the last race of the past season: you will lose the first promotion of the next season... Lesson learned

Let the Golden Future of Australian Cobble-Hillers (GFoACH) begin!

Erm... maybe my memory is bad, but I can't remember receiving a gift like that last season?  :'(

Yes, sorry, she wanted to play billiard with me first, and you were too drunk anyway on your Australian welcome barbeque to handle her.  :P
But of course, you too deserve a special welcome to Australia gift, in fact, she is a super special gift as you can see.
If you hear the doorbell in a few minutes, that is her. Enjoy !  :-*  :))

Very nice Franky !  8)

And what a sacrifices I make for Australia, to make space in my team to have at least one free place to recruit/scout ;
I even fired my silver hill sprinter who had TC bonus for the upcoming MSR and with the right tactics could score a few points.
Almost a week ago I bought him for just 3k, together with TC costs and firing costs it is not financial disaster.
And I assume these missed points will not cause that my team relegates this season.
Difficult game with difficult choices sometimes, well, at least I have now 6 possibillities to score a good 19yo instead of zero possibillities.
Let's hope I'm a bit lucky, so this choice to fire my MSR sprinter will be a "responsible" choice, and good for the future of Australia.  :)

Absolutely.  It'll be better to look at than the next race's prospects.
