No Team USA results to report because, alas, I neglected/forgot to enter any riders. Apologies to all those affected. If I hadn't forgotten, I would have entered the following: Andrew Truex (85.3), Max Balzary (84.0), Duke McClure (84.0), Richard Young (82.0), Gary Murphy (80.2), and the best of the U23s. Truex, whose team is Cabrasverdes, is 23, and would have been the captain. He likely wouldn't have gotten a result, but that's beside the point. My bad. I promise to do better.

I did not note down the tactics so I'll have to rely on my slowly declining recall and say that the captain, Lenny Ford, rode 02235, with the helpers riding 13350. Stevens, who finished 12th, rode 13341. The result of these tactics was 100% together in the initial flat; ditto for S2, albeit @ 0:13; down to one helper (Roche) in S3 (in the 48-rider lead group); and alone (at last, unfortunately) in S4. The stage winner, Pierre from Belgium, had helpers in S4, which was probably the key to his victory.

Tactics were typical for a stage like this: the captain, Sweet, rode 34005, with the helpers going 45111 or 5511. Free riding Laybutt, 23 years old, almost got into the points. All our riders were wearing masks and, as best as they could, practicing social distancing in 89-rider lead group in the penultimate flat section.
