Yes, and in almost all small tours also a time trial. It will be trialling season...Not really, it's more a season for all-rounders who can do some TT. And a few of them are climb-TTs.
Verbeek got his first TDU victoryVery well done and congratulations, Sjiz ! 8)

podium OHN = 2nd Verheyen (Cabrasverdes), 1st Jackson (Zatarra), 3rd Leonov (CobbleCrushers).
I forgot tactics this morning, not very smart. Luckily it was at a race where i didnt have much chance but still. Fortunately i had better luck at the transfer market. Poldolja decided to sign for my team in search of own glory and to help Verbeek.
Aussie Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi OiBecause just 2 teams in 1A won all different medals so far, and both teams are Australian and first in the medal ranking of 1A :
Glad to see that Vigo is streetwise enough to use his body just in the right way. Despite his young age, other sprinters know that they cannot fool him.300 meters before the finishline Jannakopulosz and Vigo were side a side in full sprint.
Good result, Vos. I guess the couple Vigo-Bettencourt was just too strong for Janna. Thanks for motivating my cyclists in the Tirreno! :) ;)Hahaha, thanks / you're welcome, and again congratulations with another well-deserved victory of Vigo.
Well, some of the riders without a mountain icon hung on pretty well in the final stage, including Vigo, Sainz, and Poldoja!
Congratulations with the stage-victory of Levin ánd the 490 total points of your team in stage 1, Aurora Australis. 8)
Probably the Australian championship will be very interesting this season. Also Tourmalet and Zatarra(with a half youth team) are doing well.
stage 1 Itzulia ;
15º Kangert
stage 2 Itzulia ;
9º VanDerKroon
I don't want to get clues about my tactics but I consider them risky. My objective was never a second place. Anyway, it is still a good place for non-favorite Noah Nelisse. Winning Leonov in Flanders nowadays is very difficult, even if Nelisse allready did it, it was when Pierre wasn't his helper. But I'll try it, let's see if any of us get it, or maybe new competitors like Blackhole. Cobble classics are getting more ineteresting every year.
PD: Congrats for your good beginning of season and victory in Omloop
Great FW-victory with Verbeek, Sjiz, now your team gets the Trophy Philippe Gilbert. 8)
By the way, Verbeek had a double weather bonus in FW, that for sure helps and maybe the explanation he could win on his own.
In what must be the weakest TT field for a tour with a flat TT race ever, there's only one or two lower gold TTers in the Giro field besides my cyclists. Richard Levin took one look at who was competing, and declared that he wasn't going to bother wasting his time racing, and was going on holiday for the next week. His replacement, Mark Friend, has declared that he's not going to bother resting from his training schedule, nor will Owen Acree. So it's basically just Paul Clickett who'll be unbettable favourite, and daylight to second, & third.
251 Kirk Workman 23 TT
252 Mark Friend 24 TT
253 Dean Shields 24 TT
254 Paul Clickett 28 TT
255 Owen Acree 29 TT
Well, looking at the favourites i would have a word with Workman. He may be young but this shouldnt happen,not having all the favourites. I hope he can make it right in the race :PI'm predicting that Workman will get onto the podium, possibly second. Clickett can't even go slap the top non-teammate in the face with a glove & say "I challenge you", his glove keeps knocking everybody out.
I'm predicting that Workman will get onto the podium, possibly second.Good prediction, the just 23yo Workman finished as 2nd. 8) Congrats with places 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 in this stage, AA.
stage 3 Giro, the time trial ;It would have been 1 to 5, except Mark Friend saw a hot drink cart on the side of the road & decided to stop for a hot cocoa. Still, with 851 points from the race, we can cheer for cyclists in the other Aussie teams, starting with $Tourmalet's Sam Lee up the stage 4 final cobble laid climb (my idea of a proper race - I'd be a really disliked tour designer in RL).I'm predicting that Workman will get onto the podium, possibly second.Good prediction, the just 23yo Workman finished as 2nd. 8) Congrats with places 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 in this stage, AA.
Second goal is to get closer to Vos's team in the standings.Nice stage 1 victory of Levin, and good luck with your second goal ! :)
Looking ahead to the final two stages, it will be hard for Tusveld to maintain his podium position--the majority of the other riders in the top ten have cobbles icons.It seems to me that Tusveld was riding a good stage 9, because he even moved up one place in the GC.
Figures crossed you stay in 5th.Again the same answer as before the WC time trial ;
You probably mean the 6th place (instead of 5th).
the numbers 4 and 5 have golden hills cyclists, so top5 will not happen.
I assume the current numbers 4 and 5 will score (easily) enough points in the WC hills race
(https://i.imgur.com/H1UJ5Bc.jpeg) Verbeek world champion ! Congratulations Sjiz ! 8)
Too bad your Marino lost the sprint-a-deux with Verbeek, WinterIsComing.
Peixoto of Foeke finished as 3rd, what makes the podium complete with 3 Dutch CFF managers, impressive ! :
1º gold Arno Verbeek 28 TeamRHB 0: 00"
2º silver Andrea Marino 24 WinterIsComing 0: 00"
3º bronze Norberto Peixoto 29 Valderend 0: 03"
