Alaphilippe won the 2020 worldchampionship race in Imola

This CFF season 17 the Giro d'Italia finishes also in Imola, on the Autodrome Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari.
The CFF record holder of this Giro stage 10 is the retired legend Arno Verbeek ( TeamRHB ).

Who is going to win this prestigious Imola stage in season 17 ? And who is going to win the Giro d'Italia ?
(https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/jerseys/jersey_pink.png) previous Giro winners :

3x  (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/gb.png) Mike Bauer ( CyKings )  -->  s2 + s5 + s6
2x  (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/gb.png) Anthony Hilton ( CaptainOrange )  -->  s11 + s12
2x  (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/it.png) Antonello Lorenzetto ( Marcatone_Due )  -->  s8 + s9
2x  (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/ch.png) Adam Roethlisberger ( Rekutxuteam )  -->  s3 + s7
1x  (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/de.png) Aleksandr Menke ( FaltososDeChigre )  -->  season 16
1x  (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/co.png) Oscar Marcos ( IKIBASQUE )  -->  s15
1x  (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/pt.png) Romeu Rosario ( KunTeam )  -->  s14

1x  (https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/flags/small/de.png) Steven Pillig ( Turrones )  -->  s4

And who are the winners of all other tours, stages and races of season 17 ?
Good luck everyone !  :)

Second season in a row in d1 for lemarche. And I am going to try to make a 3rd one. This year my goals are very similar to last's:

-paris Roubaix it's always our main goal. This year we'll train very hard to  achieve it. Vou Vou, Jonny "beGood" hummelsby, Zack gray and David kamper are the dream team for this task.
- winning any other classics. Rooney will be going to gent with gorter as his main helper. This year bbt doesn't suit him as last year did, so they are going to focus their season in this first cob-hills races. Tunik wants to try his luck in the Ardennes. And alstad in the latest moun-hills classics of the season.
-another top5 in classics. With the riders above plus legarra, who came to the team to show us what he is capable of in San remo and stamjnisder in Frankfurt.
-top3 in the Copa mapei teams classification. Have you heard of this competition? A very interesting classics extraofficial competition. You can compete by teams and individually.

We will see at the end of the season what we were able to achieve. Good luck to everybody!

Today hills specialist Kluivert and sprinter Lebrun were sold, what is a big quality-loss, also and already in this Tour Down Under.
These transfers caused at 1am that my team moved up from place 50 to place 27 in 1A, so I have no longer the poorest 1A team.
Also I needed the space (in my always too full team), although I bought 2 other cyclists at the same moment ;

Valotti (30, gold tour) for just 2,1 M. High ranked ( and i.mo. overrated ) as nr 93 due to his good TT skill.
Because although he can climb and ride hills, both skills are not strong. And he has just a little cobbleskill aside and no sprint skill.
He can ride the TDU to get in topform, but his future in my team is uncertain. Maybe he will be just a helper, or maybe he will be sold soon.
After testing Valotti in Paris Nice, his future will be more clear.

Walker (35, silver hills + little sprint) ; an "investment" of 21k to give this 14x Australian international a joyfull, dignified end of his career.
He is very delighted to ride for my team, because it is the first time ever that he is riding in division 1A.
A great way for him to say goodbye to cycling after this highest level TDU in his own country.
No pressure, because I have no expectations that he can score points. But he is extra motivated now, so maybe he surprises me.

The goals for this not good, poor selection are :
Rubiera for good results in hills stages 1 and 2.
And Millan should score a few points in stage 4, the time trial.

71 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/spain.jpg) Rubiera ( 25 ), hills
72 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colombia.jpg) Millan ( 33 ), TT
73 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/francia.jpg) Raymond ( 31 ), hills
74 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/australia.jpg) Walker ( 35 ), hills + little sprint
75 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/italia.jpg) Valotti ( 30 ), xp / form

stage 1 TDU ;
28º Rubiera  :-[
A very bad start of the season. Unexpectedly Rubiera dropped in s2, what messed up the tactics.
In previous season he finished as 7º in this same stage 1 TDU ( with the same not-topform and the same tactic ).
The much less good helper was not the reason of the s2 drop, because helper Raymond stayed in the front groups of s1, s2 and s3.

stage 2 TDU ;
15º  Rubiera
It went better in this stormy hills race. And Rubiera is not in topform yet, so probably my expectations were too high in this TDU.

Hills have seen their level increased very much this season caracoles and others are now in d1 so there are more competitors. And this second race was a very strange one, the wind messed up the whole thing and we could see different groups attacking and at the end, the usual one, won.

Indeed, you are totally right, Davilo.
And Rubiera ( 25yo ) is not happy with the young, amazing hills specialists.
He was 10th in the golden hills ranking, but he dropped 6 places at the start of this season.

Not bad for an old guy.
5º   Richard Levin   35   Aurora_Australis   a 0 minutos 16sg   83
(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/etapas/adett.jpg)

And first one to gain this achievement (well once it arrives later today - or tomorrow CFF time).

Btw: Great job Vos.  Only a few more seasons for you to be 1st to the 25 seasons in Div1 achievement.

stage 4 TDU ;
14º  Millan

Very nice result ( ) and nice milestone of Richard Levin.  8)
Is Levin also going for the Chris Horner Trophy, AA ?

Chris Horner Trophy= points of a 37yo, although that seems to me extreme difficult for any cyclist, and most likely too difficult / impossible.
But for sure I will give it an attempt somewhere in the future, just for fun.  :)
Title: Re: Season 17

If Levin makes it to 37 years, he'll get it easy (I don't think any other cyclist is likely to).  Of course that's subject to two things, first that his spot isn't needed for a 19-year-old, and second that I remain in Div1 (not a problem this season - but I suspect a big problem next).

I think winning a race at 34 years of age would be harder.

Title: Re: Season 17

An embarrasing start of season 17 ; for the first time ever SPORTLIFE did not achieve a top 10 result in any of the TDU stages.
Already in the relegation zone of 1A ( 33º ), and my team does not have cobblehills specialists, so it will drop even further in 1A.

Well, in most other seasons I had no cobblehills specialists and my team was not prepared for the TDU ;
so, I guess this is again a season that will really start in Paris Nice.

But in contrast to many other seasons ; I have not one or more prepared cyclists for the first tours of the season.
Despite this, hopefully my Paris Nice selection is strong enough to get SPORTLIFE out of the relegation zone.
Although that is doubtfull, because 4 out of the 5 will be tour cyclists, what causes difficult strategic / tactical choices ( and less points ).
What makes it even more complicated ; 3 of them ( they ride the Vuelta a Periódica and the Calles Blanco ) are just in stages 4 and 5 in topform.

A couple of days ago they were talking in discord about the outstanding level of d1 this year. So nothing to be ashamed for the only team that has been all the seasons racing in d1.

Ps: domani we go to Italy to start the Copa mapei season, do you mind if I give some updates here too? The idea is writing in the English spoken forum classifications to make it mor accessible for everybody and maybe a couple of opinions, or would you prefer me to open a different post for this?

Indeed, 1A is getting stronger with some great promoted teams. I estimate it will be even more fierce in next season 18.
This is good news to all the current 1A teams ; the better the rivals are, the better the victory tastes !  :)
And I really like it that there is always a relegation battle in 1A, so every team can compete for something in 1A ( 40% relegates ).

ps ; this topic is for everything that has to do with season 17, this includes for sure the Mapei Cup.
I think everyone likes the English posts about the Mapei Cup in this topic, what makes this topic more active and more fun to read.  :)
I like it a lot, and very often I read it in the Spanish topic.
Unfortunately I never had a Mapei Cup contender,
but for sure it is one of my future goals in this game to win that amazing, prestigious Mapei jersey. 8)

Probably it will be a strategic / tactical mess, with 4 tour cyclists in this little tour. But fun to test all my tour cyclists in Paris Nice. :)

It is difficult to estimate who is the best and should be the teamcaptain.
It seems to me that Roman and Baiao are the most suited, but I have no idea which one is the best.
Valotti is the only one who is in topform in all 5 stages, maybe that makes the difference.
Vorre is the best in hillsclimb stage 5, what is most likely the only chance that my tour cyclists have to score stage points.
But Vorre is not suited due to the too much flat, sprint and TT.

I hope and assume that at least one of the four tour cyclists will be good enough to score GC points.
And I expect a few stage points of Nyheim ( in a free role ) in climb stage 3.

371 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colombia.jpg) Roman ( 33 ), tour --> previous s16 = 10º Giro, 5º Dau, 5º Sui, 10º Vuelta ( best result = 2º Itzulia s14, with QuintoYtapa )
372 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/portugal.jpg) Baiao ( 31 ), tour --> new buy of 10 M  ( best result = 4º Itzulia s11, with ProCyclingTeam10 )
373 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/italia.jpg) Valotti ( 30 ), tour --> new buy of 2,1 M  ( no palmares, because he never rode in 1A )
374 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/dinamarca.jpg) Vorre ( 29 ), silver tour --> best result = Itzulia s15
375 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/noruega.jpg) Nyheim ( 28 ), climb  --> best result = 2º stage 3 Vuelta s15

Good luck everyone !  :)

a bit late, i know, but it has been a very long day today. first race of the Copa Mapei s17 and first victory in the race for Capilla and BlackHole. Its been a very entertaining race with Laguardia on the attack from the very beginning. but after the 4th section it was Pipinata the only one with 2 riders on the group. Last years winner, Jackson from Zatarra finished second after been left behind on s2. Great performance. we got some words from his manager:

Quote
almost a consecutive victory for Jackson, but he was very happy with this second place. His goals for this season are different than last season's, so finished on the podium in Sienna is actually very surprising.

Congratulations to Capilla and to Blackhole. His tactics appeared to be the best this morning. Quite a lot of favourites were already down after the first section. I mentioned it last year as well; the Strade is not so suited for risky tactics, because it's hard to close gaps.

Unfortunately Jackson+Haringa also lost contact with the first group after the second section, but when I saw that the riders of Blackhole were the only one upfront that still were together after section 4 I knew Jackson had a chance to finish on the podium after all and so he did. Very happy with that and now we're looking forward to DRVV mostly ;-).

Race analisis by Bronx, interview to Ophiuko and the winner and "best moments" from BlackHole teams car and  in the spanish chat. Next stop, San Remo :)

stage 3 PN ;
17º  Nyheim ( helper )
Finally some points, although I decided to sacrifice Nyheim as helper for teamcaptain Roman, so the other 3 tour cyclists got a free role.

Roman ( teamcaptain ) started with a mechanical breakdown, and was isolated in s2 and s3.
But masterhelper Nyheim returned to Roman in s4, and he did a good helpers job, what caused a very good 36º stage result of Roman.
GC after 3 stages = 11º on 1:38"

Baiao ( free role ) ; an unexplicable bad start in this mountain stage, and also his flatcobble stage 2 result was very dissapointing.
It seems that I made the right teamcaptain choice with Roman.
GC = 49º on 4:51" ( the nr 20º is on 2:44" )

Vorre ( free role ) ; he had no luck in this mountain stage 3 due to a mechanical breakdown in s2.
GC = 34º on 4:09"

Valotti ( free role ) ; the only one who was in topform in the first 3 stages ; in stage 4 his teammates will also be in topform.
GC = 38º on 4:26"

Maybe my free role tour cyclists are already too far behind the top 20 GC.
The time trial will make it clear if they ( or one of them ) have a chance to score a few GC points.
Teamcaptain Roman is doing very well, considering the circumstances. At the moment it seems that he should get a decent GC result.
Title: Re: Season 17
Post by: Vos on May 22, 2021, 09:18:46 AM
stage 4 PN ;
30º  Valotti
8 unexpected points extra, but Valotti is 9 places and 1:05" behind the top 20 GC, what seems to me out of reach.

Baiao his bad luck continued in this time trial, because he finished with a mechanical breakdown.
Also he can forget about scoring a few GC points ; at the moment 15 places and 1:43" behind the top 20 GC.

As expected Vorre did not do well in this stage 4, he dropped in the GC and now 20 places and 2:17" behind the top 20 GC, way too much.

Roman moved up one place and is now 10º GC on 1:45" behind the Australian GC leader Ronnald ( LaGuardia ).
Hopefully Roman can hold on to this top 10 place after the final hillsclimb stage.
That will be difficult despite he has good helpers now, because they have no chance anymore to score a few extra GC points.
Title: Re: Season 17

stage 5 PN ;
12º  Vorre ( free role )
13º  Baiao ( free role )
16º  Roman ( teamcaptain )
A very good final stage with a good amount of points.
Also positive is that Roman could hold on to the 10º GC place. :)
And my team is now out of the relegation zone, that is nice too.

A last minute selection. I guess my team season schedule is still in progress, and a bit lazy due to nothing at stake so far this season.
Only Beck was planned to ride the Tirreno to get in form. No expectations of him anyway because the time trial kills his GC chances.

Still 4 more to be selected.
Millan was not sold for 1M an hour ago, so that is already one easy choice and he should be good enough to score some TT points.

Also Baiao and Roman are selected despite this Tirreno is not really suited for them too.
Hopefully this is not a big strategic mistake of too many races for one or both, further in the season.
This time Baiao gets the number 1 position. I estimate that he is a tiny little bit better than Roman, despite Roman is better in sprint.
Baiao gets the mission to finish in the top 20 GC.

And most likely with a free role in flathills stage 2, because Rubiera is selected as last one.
In a teamcaptain role Rubiera should score some points in stage 2, despite he does not like this flathills stage.
He "already" had a season schedule, but now he is riding the Tirreno instead of another little tour with a suited pure hills stage in it.

271 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/portugal.jpg) Baiao ( 31 ), "tour"
272 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colombia.jpg) Roman ( 33 ), "tour"

275 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colombia.jpg) Millan ( 33 ), TT

Good luck everyone !  :)

My 24-year-olds & Workman are racing at almost full health in Tirreno's TT stage.

And Vos, my team's the only Aussie team which is supposed to be skirting the red zone at this point in the season.
Title: Re: Season 17

Well, your team is still 3 places ahead, and probably your TT specialists will score more Tirreno points than my team.
At least I passed one other Australian team after Paris Nice, so SPORTLIFE is not the last Australian team in 1A anymore.  :D
Title: Re: Season 17

probably your TT specialists will score more Tirreno points than my team.
It is possible that I'm wrong. Because more points were scored in stage 1 as expected.
Perhaps it might be very close in total Tirreno points of both our teams.

stage1 Tirreno ;
16º  Roman ( free role ) on 0:50"
25º  Beck ( free role ) on 1:03"
Roman surprised me a lot in this stormy flatclimb race, he was even in the s4 front group of just 19.
Also Beck did well ; he had a good start too, and was still in the s3 front group of just 28.
But he dropped out of the front in s4, probably due to his not-topform and free role.

Again Baiao dissapointed ; despite his teamcaptain role, he could not follow the s1 front peleton of 38.
After a bad race and after being in the 3rd group of s4 on already 0:38", he finished as 34º on 1:17"
I guess Baiao is such a cyclist that has weird start problems, and Roman is a cyclist that everytime is doing better as expected.

I keep forgetting to set tactics...
Title: Re: Season 17

stage 2 Tirreno ;
14º  Rubiera ( teamcaptain )
24º  Baiao ( free role ) on 0:31"
An unexpected excellent result of Baiao in a very good time.
What makes the choice easier to go for him as GC contender. Also because Roman and Beck had a bad stage, and both finished on 2:03"
At the moment Baiao is GC on 0:48"

stage 3 Tirreno ;
A good sprint stage of my team ; Baiao (teamcaptain), Roman (free role) and Beck (good helper) finished all on 1:16"
Baiao even moved up 2 places and now GC on 1:24"
Also Roman moved up 2 places ( now 16º on 2:29" ), and Beck even moved up 8 places ( now 17º on 2:41" ).
But Beck sucks in the time trial, so he has no GC ambition and again he will be the helper in stage 5.
For now it is looking good for Baiao, but still too soon to tell, probably the time trial will shake up the GC a lot.
Title: Re: Season 17

stage 4 Tirreno ;
10º  Millan

stage 5 Tirreno ;
Baiao ( teamcaptain ), Beck ( helper ) and Roman ( free role ) all finished on 1:18"
Not bad, but also not really good, because I hoped that Baiao could finish one group sooner.

What would be a difference of 29 seconds ; what would make a difference in the GC of four places.
Now Baiao finished as GC, just 9 seconds behind the nr 4º.
Roman ( all stages in a free role ) did well by finishing as 14º GC.

SPORTLIFE entered the top20 of 1A.
But again no cyclists for the upcoming classic races, so perhaps my team will be again in the relegation zone after MSR + E3H.

Almost no mountains in this Volta a Catalunya makes it not very suited to Roman, despite this, he will try to score GC points.
In Paris Nice he finished as 10º, and in the Tirreno as surprising 14º due to all stages in a free role. Hopefully he can surprise again.

Beck is a climb-hills-sprinter, so he would like this little tour when there would not be a time trial in it.
His TT skill is just 15, and that should kill his GC chances. For example in the time trial of he Tirreno he finished as 198º on 3:54"

Stubbe makes his debut for my team. Yesterday I bought him for 9,2 M and he is the current 2nd best hillsclimber of CFF.
I assume he will be a favorite in stage 2, but he is not in topform yet, so there is also the possibility that Roman will be the teamcaptain.

Rubiera his season schedule was changed a lot yesterday, including his TC period, instead of the hills classics, it is Vuelta + WC.
Now he has the opportunity to ride the to him very suited hills stage 5.
It could be that he has to ride it in a free role, that will depend on if Roman still has a chance to ride a good GC.

This season TT specialist Millan finished as 14º TT- TDU and as 10º TT- Tirreno. Hopefully again such a good result.

241 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colombia.jpg) Roman ( 33 ), "tour"
242 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/alemania.jpg) Beck ( 30 ), climb-hills-sprint
243 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/suiza.jpg) Stubbe ( 31 ), hillsclimb
244 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/spain.jpg) Rubiera ( 25 ), hills
245 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colombia.jpg) Millan ( 33 ), TT

stage 4 Catalunya ;
17º  Millan
I hoped he would do a little bit better, but probably my hope was not justified with 34ºC and storm.

Roman is still high ranked in the GC despite a free role in climbhills stage 2.
At the moment he is 11º GC, and just 15 seconds behind the nr 5º GC.
Although, most likely he should look what is behind him because I assume that he is not so good in a pure hills race compared to many rivals.
To my surprise, hills specialist Rubiera cannot challenge favorites in stage 5, so, maybe Roman will be the teamcaptain.

stage 5 Catalunya ;
4º  Rubiera
A pretty good result ( and his best result ever ) , thanks to Stubbe who did an excellent helpers job in the first 3 sections.

GC contender Roman got a free role and finished as 116º on 1:30"
And this was good enough to hold on to his 11º GC place ( with 2x a free role in this little tour ).

SPORTLIFE moved up to the 23º place in 1A.
But so far this season no cyclists for the point-rich one day races, including the upcoming 3 cobblehills races.
So, perhaps again a visit to the relegation zone.
But temporary, because the expectations are high for my Itzulia team, probably my strongest little tour selection so far this season.

Normally a time trial would kill the GC chances of Vorre, but I assume that he will lose much less time in this MDFFF time trial.
Still, it is difficult to estimate how he will do in the GC with his silver tour icon.
Golden tour cyclist Valotti likes the time trial, but Vorre is much better in stages 1 + 3 + 5, so Vorre will be the GC teamcaptain.

Stubbe and Beck might get free roles in their stages, that will depend on the situation / if Vorre needs extra help.
Rother is just an 8 star silver TT specialist and a 521k experiment because I estimate he is very suited for this time trial, but I could be wrong.

261 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/dinamarca.jpg) Vorre ( 29 ), silver tour
262 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/italia.jpg) Valotti ( 30 ), golden tour
263 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/suiza.jpg) Stubbe ( 31 ), climbhills --> stages 3 + 5
264 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/alemania.jpg) Beck ( 30 ), climb-hills-sprint --> stage 4
265 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/alemania.jpg) Rother ( 25 ), TT --> stage 2

Good luck everyone !  :)

stage 2 Itzulia ;
4º  Rother ( as 3rd favorite )
21º  Valotti
stage 3 Itzulia ;
25º  Vorre
stage 4 Itzulia ;
7º  Beck ("helper")

A bad Itzulia to teamcaptain Vorre, who is now on a dissapointing 14º GC on 2:11" with one more stage to go.

Title: Re: Season 17
Post by: Vos on June 01, 2021, 02:34:09 PM
I have no cyclists for Paris-Roubaix, but I have Rubiera for the 3 classic hills races, although he has no TC bonus.
I assume he still can score some points without TC. He gets help of my new 23yo training project Jelle Meijer, a 14M buy of 2 days ago.

Probably my team will "float" somewhere just above the relegation-line before Romandie starts.
Maybe a little higher if stage 5 Itzulia goes well, ánd if Rubiera can achieve better results as I expect.

I'm not worried at all to relegate ; 9 out of my 10 racing cyclists still have to peak, so I expect more than enough points.
But for the 11th time in a row top10 in division 1A ; I guess that will not happen this season.
Although my team was often low-ranked in this phase of the season due to no points in the classic races + training projects aside.
Perhaps this is fun to mention ; to all Australian 1A teams with Australian championship ambition ; don't rule out SPORTLIFE yet.  ;)

stage 5 Itzulia ;
4º  Vorre
16º  Stubbe ( free role )
29º   Beck ( helper )

Excellent stage result of Vorre, this compensates a bit his bad Itzulia, also because he moved up 6(!) places to GC. :)
Stubbe was the 3rd or 4th favorite, but his free role stage 5 result is a bit dissapointing. And Valotti finished 0:07" behind the top 20 GC.

And the moment SPORTLIFE is 23º in 1A, and already 546 points above the relegation zone. No worries overhere. :D

We race tomorrow Paris Roubaix and Bronx has posted an amazing preface in the Spanish forum (copa mapei) a very assertive analysis from several managers with the main favourites, teams and everything you need to know about what can happen in the cobblestones.

Everybody is welcome there :) hope you enjoy the reading

Decent good results considering the circumstances of no TC bonus, no good director, and no s4-tophelper.
Hopefully another top20 result in the upcoming LBL where the weather is going wild ( hard wind, heavy rainfall, and very hot with 34ºC ).

Pretty good results ( 18º and 16º ) of Hunter, especially because he has just a silver hills icon, well done. 8)
He must have a good flat skill aside, otherwise these results are more than impressive.
Rubiera his flat is not so good, he even cannot win these 2 classic races in the World Challenge ; tomorrow attempt 10.  :)
For now the LBL-mission of Rubiera is to keep SPORTLIFE in front of Manicomicos_CT in the 1A ranking, currently just 1 place difference. :o :P ;D

Unexpectedly his 3 EP start was not good enough to follow his 2 helpers ánd the s1 peleton of 75.
In s2 Rubiera even dropped to the 3rd group of the nrs 104 to 139, and already 0:54" behind.

Not many total points in the hills classics, but at least the first points in the one-day-races of this season.

There are not many opportunities for climbers this season 17 ; Romandie is one of the exceptions, so all my 3 climbers are selected.
But most likely no teamcaptain role for them, because Baiao is trying to ride a good GC.
Only if Baiao fails after 4 stages, the climbers get their chance to try to ride a top result in stage 5.

As it seems now, they will get free- ánd helpers roles, so Baiao should have excellent support in the mountains.
Vorre ( 8º Itzulia ) will be used as helper too, especially in stage 4 he can be important to teamcaptain Baiao ( 8º Tirreno ).

211 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/portugal.jpg) Baiao ( 31 ), golden tour
212 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/dinamarca.jpg) Vorre ( 29 ), silver tour

stage 1 Romandie ;
26º  Baiao  on 0:34" (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/incidencias/sad.png)

WOW, I guess Baiao had extreme bad luck in this race ; with 3 EP in s5 he finished as 2nd of the 2nd big group.
Very surprising and very unexpected that Baiao could not finish on 0:00" in such a to him suited stage, and he was not far behind in s4.

The weird s5 of Baiao is best illustrated by the performance of helper Vorre with a much less good GV ;
Vorre his 3 EP start was not good enough to follow Baiao and the s1 front peleton of 42.
The whole race Vorre ( with 34500 in a helpers role ) was one group behind Baiao.
But in s5 ; Vorre ( with 0 EP + much less good GV + 21 points less flat + 14 points less sprint ) closed the gap towards Baiao ( with 3 EP ).
Very weird that Vorre and Baiao finished in the same 2nd group on 0:34" what is for sure an unnecessary big time loss.
And most likely this will have big consequences for the final GC ; this bad/unlucky stage 1 is an unexpected bummer to Baiao.
Title: Re: Season 17

stage 3 Romandie ;
15º  Nyheim ( free role ) on 1:50"
22º  Baiao ( teamcaptain ) on 2:21"
25º  Kummer ( helper ) on 2:21"
27º  Vorre ( free role ) on 2:51"

A good race of Baiao, thanks to an excellent helpers job of Kummer. And needed, because 2nd helper Macannazi had an off-day or so.
This result added with the stage 2 time trial result (45º on 2:30") brings Baiao a current 11º GC place on 1:11"
Without the bad luck failure in stage 1 he would be 5 GC places higher. Hopefully those 34 seconds damage have less effect in the final GC.
Title: Re: Season 17

stage 4 Romandie ;
5º  Baiao  on 0:13"
14º  Vorre ( helper )

Ups, suddenly Baiao was solo in the lead in s3, the first mountain section.
"Thanks" to Vorre who was together with Auestad ( FlyEaglesFly ) also in the front of all others, and 0:05" behind Baiao.
Of course this was not my intention, and tactical not good that teamcaptain and helper were seperated already in s3.
Because now Baiao was also isolated in s4 ( in a front group of 4 ) and the tactics of masterhelper Vorre were based on helping in s4,
but that did not happen because now Vorre was 0:14" behind in the s4 chasing group of just 5.

The tactics were not perfect at all, but still a good race and a very good result of Baiao. In fact, his 2nd best stage result of his career.
Baiao moved up 7 places to GC and still the same 1:11" behind the GC leader. (if stage 1 went normal, Baiao would be 2ºGC)
Title: Re: Season 17

stage 5 Romandie ;
11º  Nyheim ( free role )
25º  Baiao
26º  Kummer ( helper )

Unfortunately Nyheim had a mechanical breakdown in s2, otherwise there was a good chance he would be in the s2 frontgroup of 12.
Also due to his weather icon, but now he was in the 2nd group on already 0:40". And he missed a little sponsordeal of top10 in this stage.

All other SPORTLIFE cyclists had to help teamcaptain Baiao. Also he and helper Vorre had active weather icons.
In retrospective it was a mistake to make Vorre a helper in this little tour, because his helpers tactics were of almost no use,
ánd he finished 1:07" behind the top20 GC. Most likely a few extra GC points were possible with 4x free roles of Vorre.
Again the tactics were not good in this stage ;
that helper Kummer finished in the same time as Baiao is misleading, because Baiao was isolated in s3 and s4.
In the end Baiao finished as GC, just 0:19" behind the nr 3º, so he could have been on the podium easily (nrs 1º and 2º were out of reach).

Baiao and Roman are different tour cyclists ;
Baiao is better in hills + TT, and Roman is better in the 3 stages that end in a sprint + stage 6 with a cobblemountain finish.
To me it is hard to estimate who is better,  they could be just as good in this specific Giro.

But I have to make a choice, and for now my teamcaptain will be Baiao. I estimate that he can ride a slightly better GC.
I have no idea what his final GC result could be ; it will depend on many factors, and the main factor is how his rivals will do.
Roman can ride most stages in free roles, because Baiao should have good help of the other selected cyclists.

141 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/portugal.jpg) Baiao ( 31 ), tour
142 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colombia.jpg) Roman ( 33 ), tour

(https://www.worldcyclingstats.com/img/logos/8ed052732fddd78a1b24c0eb2887c9f6.png)  The Giro is halfway and we did not see a mountain yet.  ???

What makes it hard to estimate how teamcaptain Baiao is doing compared to the many GC rivals.
One thing is certain ; this first half of the Giro could have been much better. Let's hope the competition made many mistakes too.

Free role contender Roman is doing even worse.
At the moment he is already 2:10" behind Baiao. What should have been a much smaller gap, because Roman likes this first half more.
In contrast to the second half, what could mean that Roman has no chance to score a few GC points.

The next stage 6 will be crucial for my GC contenders ; perhaps this is not a suited Giro for them due to just 4 mountains in this Giro.
At least there is the very first mountain in stage 6, and probably that will make the ( possible ? ) GC chances more clear.
Unfortunately for Baiao that s5 mountain is paved with cobblestones and s2 is a flatcobble section.
Roman likes this stage 6 more, but maybe Baiao can get a better stage result because of his teamcaptain role.

So far the only Giro points were scored by Bleidelis ;
stage 1 = 22º ( in a free role )
stage 2 = 10º ( as helper )
stage 4 = 20º ( as helper )
Bleidelis was bought right before the Giro to win the CFF Cup race of 3 days ago. And he is of good use in this Giro too.

But halfway a big tour just a total of 156 points of my whole Giro-selection, that is of course not SPORTLIFE-worthy.  :-[  ;D
Hopefully the 2nd half of this Giro will be better, what mainly depends on if Baiao can ride a good GC. Right now, I still have no clue.

top 5 stage 6 Giro ;
  Ruup ( Zatarra ) on 0:00" --> congrats !  8)
  Baiao  on 0:06"  8)
  Vonk ( Combuijs ) on 0:06"  8)
4º  Fredickson ( Combuijs ) on 0:12"
5º  Zipp ( FaltososDeChigre ) on 0:18"
(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/incidencias/bombilla.png) Baiao ( cobble=28 ) finished with a well-deserved lightbulb thanks to a magnificient helpersjob of Vorre.
Vorre finished just outside the points, but 2 other SPORTLIFE cyclists scored points too :
18º   Roman ( free role ) on 0:50"
22º   Nyheim ( free role ) on 0:50"
Roman did great in the first 3 sections where he could keep up with Baiao and Vorre, but he was very unlucky to miss the cut in flat s4.
As expected Nyheim was far behind ( no flat, no hills ), but he is a climber with a cobbleskill and 2 active weather icons,
so he had a superb final climb where he passed many other cyclists, and scored some surprising extra points.

Baiao moved up to an excellent GC on 2:48" behind GC leader Voisin ( LaGuardia ).
Again Roman dissapointed a bit ; probably my expectations were too high of my free role GC contender ; now 26º GC on already 5:42"
That does not look good to Roman. But Baiao might be happy with this because this could mean he has an extra good helper from now on.

Flathills stage 8 went very well thanks to masterhelper Bleidelis who was still with Baiao in s4.
Baiao could hold on to his place in the GC. Free role Roman did less good and dropped one place to 21º GC.

stage 9 Giro ;
9º  Nyheim ( masterhelper ) on 1:51"
10º  Baiao ( teamcaptain ) on 1:51"
28º  Roman ( free role ) on 2:44"
Excellent results !  :)
Although masterhelper Nyheim lost contact with Baiao in s4, but that was unavoidable because I could not use ½ energy points.
No problem to Nyheim ; excellent help in all earlier sections, and in the end he finished just before his teamcaptain in the same time.

Baiao still GC, and now on 3:07" what is 35 seconds behind a podiumplace.
There is also a 558k sponsor deal at stake of top10 GC, what should be already certain with 1 more stage to go (nr10 is 2:14" behind).
To my surprise ; Roman moved up 6 places and now 15º GC on 7:23" It looks very good that he will score some extra GC points.

stage 10 Giro ;
2 very bad helpers tactics ( both started too slow ), so Baiao had to do it on his own in this hills race.
And he did pretty well ; his finish on the race track of Imola even caused that he moved up two places to GC.
Roman ( free roles in the whole Giro ) managed to hold on to his 15º GC place.

It is uncertain if Roman can ride a GC with just 2 mountain sections in this Dauphiné without a s5 mountain finish.

The strategy in this little tour is still unknown ; maybe climber Kummer gets a chance to go for two good stage results.
But this will go at the expense of Valotti his GC ambition, although I cannot estimate how well he can perform in the GC.

It seems to me Valotti is not a top GC contender, but he should be better than his teammate Beck, who does not like the time trial.
And normally Baiao should be the most suited of my team, but he is the only one of my TdS-selection who has 99 form ánd no climb-TC.
Most likely this makes him the worst of my 3 selected tour cyclists, because climb-TC is essential in this Tour de Suisse.

stage 1 TdS ;
8º  Kummer
This well-known stage has no tactical secrets to me,
but I did not expect that helper Macannazi had a complete off-day in all first 4 sections with what should be a save/conservative helpers tactic.
Anyway ; it caused that Kummer was isolated from the start, in a mountain race where having a helper is essential for a good result.
This 8º place was of course not a good enough stage result to demand the teamcaptain role at the expense of a GC contender.
And also not good enough because Kummer could challenge 2 or 3 favorites.

The other 3 selected cyclists all got free roles.
Despite good tactics, I'm not really satisfied about their races too, for example due to unexpectedly dropping behind in downhill sections.
What caused not very promising results ; 55º Beck on 2:19", 73º Valotti on 2:28" and 92º Baiao on 2:37"

stage 2 TdS, the climb time trial ;
Also not a lucky race.
Well, at least one of my 3 tour cyclist could stay on his bicycle, but unfortunately he finished 0:01" behind the points.
33º Valotti on 0:52" = 58º GC on 3:13"
63º Baiao on 1:10" ( with fall in s2 ) = 73º GC on 3:40"
103º Beck on 1:39" ( with fall in the crucial s5 ) = 81º GC on 3:51"

Not a good start of this Tour de Suisse. Hopefully it is still possible to ride a good GC with at least one of my tour cyclists.
The next 2 stages will tell. And if they dissapoint, then the combo Kummer-Macanazzi get their chance of revanche in stage 5.

stage 3 TdS ;
23º  Beck ( teamcaptain ) on 0:33"
Some unexpected points in this heavy hills sprint race. Also Baiao did great in a free role, and finished in the same 2nd group on 0:33"
Even Valotti was riding in a free role, because I could not decide who to sacrifise as helper, so I gave the helpers role to an useless climber.
But Valotti was less suited for this stage and he lost a lot of time by finishing on 1:38"

All 3 tour cyclists still outside the top20 GC :
21º  Baiao  on 2:38"
25º  Beck  on 2:49"
30º  Valotti  on 3:16"

In stage 4 the same strategic concept ; Beck as teamcaptain, and the other 2 in free roles.
Probably not a smart thing to do, but fun to see what is possible after stage 4. :)
And I estimate that a top GC result will not happen, so this Tour de Suisse is a great opportunity to experiment like this.

It might even give valuable information for the upcoming Tour de France, because Valotti and Beck will ride that too.
As it seems now due to this TdS ; silver tour rider Beck will be the teamcaptain instead of golden tour rider Valotti, who dissapoints here.
Title: Re: Season 17

stage 4 TdS ;
8º  Beck ( teamcaptain ) on 0:05" =   16º GC on 2:49"
26º  Baiao ( free role ) on 0:33" =  21º GC on 3:06"
32º  Valotti ( free role ) on 0:33" =  26º GC on 3:44"

Excellent stage result of Beck and he has a good chance to score some GC points.
Also nice although not real season goals ;
my team is for the first time this season the nr1 of Australia, ranked as nr12 of 1A and just 128 points behind the top10.

(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/colinasoro.jpg)Other good news of today is that my recent bought 23yo training project Jelle Meijer gets his golden hills icon. 8x 23yo rivals are better.
(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/montanaoro.jpg)My other 23yo Luca Zutter ( a longer training project of 3 months for just 252k ) got his golden climbhills icon already a while ago,
back then 15x climbhills rivals of 23yo got it sooner.

(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/montanaplata.jpg)And also today ; my 21yo Barna Szõnyi got his silver pure climb icon.
What is reasonable good when I look at the Training records topic ( created by Ophiuko ),
because it is 23 trainings more than record holder Arnfinn Mikalsen.

Although it is uncertain if Mikalsen is really the record holder, because I assume Ophiuko does not have all data.
Besides this, I expect many better 21yo climbers than my Szõnyi anyway, just in the team he was bought from there should be many better,
and it is almost sure they have better talent ratings too. ( my climber has talent rating 3 )
But I'm very happy :) with the superfluous cyclist of that amazing youth climbers team ( and I assume there are more of such teams )
because Szõnyi will get the highest climb GV that a SPORTLIFE-climber ever had.

stage 5 TdS ;
2º  Kummer
Stenseth ( TeamEuroscalt ) and Kummer attacked on the s4 mountain and both were still ahead in s5 downhill.
Unfortunately Kummer lost the sprint-á-deux. Despite this, still a great result, in fact, his best result ever.
And he was not even a favorite, although he could challenge them. As bonus Kummer won a sponsordeal of 273k.

The GC was not a succes ; only Beck scored a few points with 18º GC on 3:29" behind TdS winner Valdmanis ( KunTeam ).
Baiao finished as 22º and 12 seconds behind the top 20 GC, but he had no TC bonus and was riding with 99 form in free roles.
The dissapointing Valotti ( 27º ) finished 50 seconds behind the points.

Beck gets the number that ends on 1, because he will be the teamcaptain in most stages.
But the expectations are low for this silver tour cyclist.
That he is bad in TT does not have to be a big problem in this TdF, but in stage 3 he will lose much time due to his cobbleskill of 9.
And he does not have a good helper for the 3 sprint stages + most likely in at least 2 stages he has to ride in free roles.
Despite these circumstances, his goal is to ride top20 GC.
And he should be able to ride a good stage 1, and maybe a few points in stage 10.

Stubbe his main goal is to compete for victory in the Mont Ventoux stage 9. In the other stages he will be a helper.

Most likely Kummer or Macanazzi get a chance in queens stage 7 with finish on the Pla-d'Adet.
At the moment it is not certain who will be the teamcaptain. And if Beck surprises me a lot, maybe he will get the leader role in stage 7.

I estimate that Valotti is not so suited for this TdF, despite his golden tour icon.
Also he is not suited to score stage points somewhere, with maybe time trial stage 4 as exception. So, he will be used as helper.

101 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/alemania.jpg) Beck ( 30 ), silver tour
102 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/suiza.jpg) Stubbe ( 31 ), climbhills
103 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/alemania.jpg) Kummer ( 26 ), climb
104 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/italia.jpg) Macannazi ( 26 ), climb

stage 1 TdF ;
7º  Beck

stage 4 TdF ;
10º  Valotti

stage 7 TdF ;
1º  Kummer --> victory !  8)
11º  Macannazi
Magnificient first victory ever of not-favorite Kummer thanks to a superb helpersjob of Macannazi.
Very unexpected, because it is superhard and almost impossible to beat TeamEuroscalt that is superiour in the mountains of this season.

The first victory of my team this season, and it prevents this would have been my first 1A season ever without a victory.
I thought I had just one chance this season to prevent this ( TdF stage 9 ), and very nice to have that victory already.  :)

GC contender Beck is at the moment 20º GC on 5:51"
so he really has to battle for his top20 goal in the final 3 stages, and most likely 1 or 2 of those 3 final stages in a free role.
Title: Re: Season 17
Post by: Vos on June 21, 2021, 08:03:10 AM
stage 8 TdF ;
8º  Stubbe
Excellent result of my hillsclimber who got the teamcaptain role instead of the too low ranked "GC contender" Beck.
Silver tour rider Beck dissapointed in a free role and dropped one place to 21º GC.

stage 9 TdF ;
4º  Stubbe (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/incidencias/tools.png) a mechanical breakdown in s2 caused that he lost contact with his helper, so no bonus for the crucial s3.
21º  Beck ( free role ) (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/incidencias/tools.png) also a mechanical breakdown in a crucial section ; s3 Mont Ventoux.

Very dissapointing results in this stormy race where 1st favorite Stubbe had an active weather icon, but he lost the race due to an unlucky s2.

Beck is 21º GC and it seems he can move up just one place if he rides a very good stage 10.

Another not satisfactory result is the lost semi final CFF Cup to JGMTeam.
I see that the final is a short pure mountain race, where my team would have had a chance to win.
Congratulations to JGMTeam and Rekutxuteam, and I wish both teams good luck in the CFF Cup final.

stage 10 TdF ;
11º  Beck --> with this good stage result he moved up 2 places and finished 19º final GC.
20º  Macannazi ( free role )

Clasica San Sebastian ;
5º  Stubbe
27º  Baiao ( free role )
Very good results and unexpected extra points for my Portuguese tour cyclist Baiao.

Unfortunately two rival-contenders for the Portuguese championship jersey did great in San Sebastian ; 1º and 3º.
Baiao is still first in that ranking, but now I estimate that he has not really a chance to win that jersey.
Too bad, it was the only nation jersey that seemed within reach this season.

Updates for achieving my goals:

Avoid the relegation to 2nd Division: ONGOING. We are not 26th, 700 points over the position 31st. Our riders are competing a lot, and form is starting to decrease in some of them, but we can still fight good enough. Basically only Jasper Blair and Martin Hunter are the ones achieving points for us. 2 sprints in La Vuelta and Lombardia are our key races now, plus some other small chances in other races like time trials for Odom and hills races also for Hunter.

Australian Jersey: Again Jasper and Martin. They are the favorites, one of them will win the jersey, so I can say that GOAL 99% ACHIEVED

Winning in a stage in a Grand Tour: A 2nd and a 3rd in LeTour. Will be very hard to win in LaVuelta, so I can say the the goal is ALMOST FAILED.

Not much to battle for in this remaining season. Almost no goals left and the season highlights are passed.
This poor quality BBT selection has as goal to score points with the Danish-Dynamite-Duo, who both make their debut for my team.

Hopefully also some points of Stubbe in stage 1. He surprised me by a great 8º place in the hills stage of the Tour de France.
But this stormy BBT hills stage has one more flat section, that is not in favor of Stubbe. His helper Dagorret is also a debutant.

Recent TdF stage victor Kummer is already preparing for the world championship race of next season, by riding this BBT for extra xp.

101 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/dinamarca.jpg) Gyring-Nielsen ( 31 ), flatcobble with sprint / stages 2 + 5

stage 1 BBT ;
16º  Stubbe
Very good result of my hillsclimber.

stage 2 BBT ;
21º  Gyring-Nielsen
26º  Skurk ("helper")
(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/incidencias/sad.png) Ups, the big gamble with 1 EP in s1 was a failure. Gyring-Nielsen was behind ánd isolated from the start, and he never returned.
Normally this was a good opportunity to gamble ( no guts, no glory ), and I don't mind if it goes wrong sometimes.
But this time it was not smart to gamble with a not-favorite in a stormy race, who has a very bad director. I should have known better.

Despite this tactical failure race, there were happy faces in the SPORTLIFE-teambus. :)
35yo "helper" Skurk was still in the s4 front group, and he would have done a perfect helper's job if his teamcaptain had a good start.
But despite the helpers role, he scored some points, and this means that he won something  8) ;
(https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/iconoscff/d334.png) Jens Voigt's trophy ( points with a 35yo ) --> just 6 managers have this achievement.

At almost 900 points behind 30th, my Binck-Bank TTers need to start clawing back some points.

342 Christian Pocock   24
343 Tod Henderson   24
344 Kirk Workman   29
345 Richard Levin   35

There's expected to be one change for Espana, with Dean Shields coming in for Tod Henderson.

It was a bit of a last minute puzzle who would ride the Vuelta, and these 5 are the lucky ones.
The goal is to get good results in stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7.
And maybe a few points in the windy stage 10, although Rubiera is not a flat-hills-specialist, but with good tactics it should be possible.

Valotti is selected as last one. Despite his golden tour icon, he is not suited for this Vuelta, ánd he drops to 94 form after stage 5.
His main job is to help in stage 4, and he will try to help in most other stages too. Often he will not be good enough and rides just for xp.

101 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/spain.jpg) Rubiera ( 25 ), hills
102 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/dinamarca.jpg) Gyring-Nielsen ( 31 ), flatcobble

104 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/dinamarca.jpg) Skurk ( 35 ), flatcobble
105 (https://www.cyclingforfun.org/cff/imagenes/italia.jpg) Valotti ( 30 ), "allround"

stage 1 Vuelta ;
3º  Gyring-Nielsen
21º  Skurk ( helper )
Splendid race of the Danish-Dynamite-Duo and an excellent result,
because Gyring-Nielsen could not challenge any favorites and never in his career he finished on the podium.

stage 3 Vuelta ;
6º  Rubiera  on 0:00"
Good result.
Unfortunately not-favorite Rubiera had no s4 helper, otherwise he could have competed for victory in both hills stages.
But Stubbe did twice a very good job as a 3-sections-helper despite low xp, no TC bonus and not in topform anymore.

And good I selected hillsclimber Stubbe, because he is the 1st favorite in the upcoming stage 4.
This season it almost never happened that my team had a top5-favorite.
Next season that will happen more often, because Stubbe ( a 31yo buy of 1 month ago ) likes a lot of stages.
Title: Re: Season 17

Good news for me is that a week away from turning 36, Richard Levin can still get top 10s without the training camp bonus.  The 39 seconds isn't great, but it's against somebody who'd be racing under the bonus, so it's ok.  I just need to stay in Div1 until he's 37.

3º   Dean Shields   30   Aurora_Australis   a 0 minutos 18sg   163   120000
5º   Kirk Workman   29   Aurora_Australis   a 0 minutos 29sg   125   90000

My not-in-topform tour cyclist scored some very surprising extra points in this flat time trial, although he finished on 2:11"
He has a bronze TT icon, but doubtfull if he has that bronze TT icon also for flat TT.

stage 7 Vuelta ;
9º  Gyring-Nielsen  on 0:00"
A good race of this not-favorite, but too many rivals with a s4-helper, and my teamcaptain was riding with a silver 35yo "3-sections" helper.

Nice extra points of my cobble specialist in the sprint stages .

Lisboa WC ;
15º  Rubiera
His 23yo helper tried a very risky helpers tactic, but without success and it caused that Rubiera was isolated the whole race.
What explains this not good result.

Baiao was leading the Portuguese ranking with just 33 points before the WC race,
but he had no chance versus hillsclimber Chaves ( 1º SSB, 3º LOM ) who is also very high ranked as hills specialist ;
he showed that in the WC race by finishing as 12º
So, no individual nation jersey in this not good season of my team with just 1 stage victory and no podiumplaces in the GC's.

And as I expected ; Innioraths passed my team in the last race, so SPORTLIFE dropped out of the top10 of 1A and finished as 11º
Unfortunately no 11 times in a row top10 in 1A now,
but logical and justified because my team scored way less points compared to the past 10 seasons.
For example in previous season there was just an 8º place with 9.238 points, not good, but that was even 1.854 points more than now.
Well, the 1A level goes up every season and my team level went down this season, so a nice challenge to do better next season. :)

WOW, 6 teams ! And another WOW ; because when I read the post of AA before the WC hills race,
I assumed he was right because he had one rival team that was expected to score(easily) enough points in the final race.
I guess my Rubiera was on a mission to keep Aurora_Australis in 1A, see these WC results :  :))
15º Rubiera
16º Pierro
And Pierro needed to finish one place higher, what would mean 20 points more.
Now Aurora_Australis stayed in 1A with a tiny difference of 17 points.  8)
I really wanted to see Levin in 1A of next season, let's see what he can do at the age of 36.  :o  :D

Congrats to AA with this unexpected avoiding of relegation.
Of course also congrats to Franky for staying in 1A, especially Hunter is happy with that because next season is very suited to him.

I have to thank Rubiera.  It was my fault to be in that situation, not putting riders into training camp, forgetting to rest before important races (why Levin didn't score in the WC).  Levin's big goal is aged 37, he possibly won't race much (only if there's a spare spot).
