Well, I better hope for good points in Paris Roubaix, else my next chance to get back ahead of you will be Tour Romandie.

After the unexpected good results of silver hills-specialist Marin in the first two hills classic races ( 6th AGR and 10th FW ),
my team is getting closer to Aurora Australis and Combuijs in the 1A ranking :  :)

The reactions of the fanclubs of AA and Combuijs when they saw the result of Marin (SPORTLIFE) in AGR:))

Well at least we've got cool fanclubs  :)

Anyway, time's running out for you to catch up, or for Combuijs to extend the advantage, because with the spring classics almost over, we're back into Australis scoring territory.

Have been scoring a few points lately as well, but I'm not sure if I can keep up with your teams already this season. Let's see if we will be able to stay in 1st division first. We still have a few spots to climb.  8)

A disappointing last stage in the Itzulia meant that Oliver King lost some places in the GC. He finished 18th, less than three minutes behind winner Mikhel Vali (Atlantico). Honourable mentions for Sven Winkler Prins with a 7th place in the GC. No doubt his encyclopedic knowledge of the Basque country did help...

In the classic Paris-Roubaix Julius Maalderink got 22nd place. Not really a good result, but at least one place higher than Zatarra's Amund Svendsen.

Liège-Bastogne-Liège was the only hill classic in which Carlo Bemelmans scored points, he finished 15th. With this result he might get another contract for next season, but we will consider our options.

In the first stage of the Tour de Romandie around Fribourg Julius Maalderink reached place 11 assisted by Eelco van der Laan. Not a bad start at all.

Division standings after the first stage in the Tour de Romandie:

1º      Cabrasverdes   6955   5   3   3
2º      CobbleCrushers   5105   2   3   6
3º      ProdopingPong   4549   4   0   2

18º      Yvo_Meppelink_ProCycling   2136   5   2   0
19º      Combuijs   2131   0   0   1
20º      Caracoles   2087   1   2   1

23º      Flyvende_hjul   1981   0   0   0
24º      Aurora_Australis   1965   3   2   2
25º      MortoviaCycling   1960   0   0   0
26º      SPORTLIFE   1905   0   2   1
27º      Zatarra   1781   1   0   0
28º      Psychoedge   1770   0   0   0

33º      PDM_cycling_team   1436   0   0   0
34º      WinterIsComing   1378   0   0   0
35º      TeamTimidus   1369   0   0   2

We have asked some tour organisers to put away the time trial they have planned, because they are less interesting for the spectators. Anyway, it might become a difficult season for us, as we are relatively low in the standings for the time of the season.

By the way, there was a wrong subtitle in Vos's photograph: this was the reaction of the Aurora Australis and Combuijs fans when someone told them the pub ran out of Combuijs Honey Ale. Lucky for them that was only a joke.

Not only our fans.  I've had to promise my three TTers an extra case of the ale if they finish top three in stage 5.

They missed out on the extra case by finishing 1st, 2nd, 4th, however with Combuijs being no-doubt disappointed with their mere 93 points in Romandie, I did purchase a six pack of Combuijs for each of them.

Hmmmm, I see that Combuijs has not registered a Giro team and also no posts of him the past 6 days.
Let's hope everything is allright with Combuijs / ( or will be allright again in the near future ).

In the third stage of the Tour de Romandie to Genève Will Miller reached 15th place, 14 places behind Sportlife's Lorenzo Tafi. The last stage was won by Isaac Trump of Aurora Australis, so you might guess it was a time trial.

And after that? I went to lovely Zaltbommel and forgot to sign up for the Henninger Turm and, much worse, the Giro... So I had to cope with a massively disappointed Arjen Rutte, Valentin Litenko and Dènes Nemcsik who had especially prepared for this tour. Worse, Tristan Prins, Ørjan Henningsen and Raphael Szepesi missed their booked flight for their training camp as well, so things are really messed up now...

The UCI also messed up a bit when the calendar changed thanks to a massive storm in the Giro...

Division standings after the Giro:

1º      Cabrasverdes   8777   6   3   4
2º      CobbleCrushers   5892   2   4   6
3º      °Peachy°Melocotons   5443   8   2   1

18º      Codex   3124   1   3   3
19º      SPORTLIFE   3034   2   2   2
20º      Ares   2927   2   2   4

25º      SentinelChickens   2744   0   0   1
26º      Aurora_Australis   2688   4   3   2
27º      Psychoedge   2494   0   0   0
28º      azerite   2254   0   0   1
29º      Combuijs   2171   0   0   1
30º      ChessPower   2093   0   0   1
31º      Zatarra   2059   1   0   0

35º      TeamTimidus   1922   0   1   3
36º      WinterIsComing   1864   0   0   0
37º      Wizards   1862   0   0   0

The relegation zone is coming very near, and it will be hard to avoid going down, I fear. Let's not miss another Grand Tour...

But we will be there again in the Dauphine Liberè:

281 Yvo de Cleer
282 Robert Brubaker
283 Thomas Freitag
284 Will Miller
285 Dénes Nemcsik

There has been an unexpected rise in our sales of the Combuijs Honey Ale six packs, which is good as sales of our cyclings shirts has declined a bit...

Good to see you're back, Combuijs :)

Still gotta step it up to avoid relegation with my team. Maybe we have to go and see a doctor who can prescribe some Honey Ale six packs. Word is that it keeps cyclists in form really well.  8)

Welcome back, Combuijs !

The rumor goes that the relegation ghost also likes Honey Ale Combuijs Beer. You are too kind to honor him with a (hopefully short) visit.  ;)

A good start in the Dauphine Libere. In the first stage to Valmorel he finishes 20th. Ok, not as good as the second place of Arles Mercado (Winter is Coming), but points are points. In the time trial to Bourg-en-Bresse Richard Brubaker finished 13th. No Aurora Australis victor this time, but "only" second and third place.

Yvo is now 29th in the GC on more than 2 minutes from leader Ethan Foster (Yvo Meppelink Pro Cycling).

L'Equipe thinks our Oliver King is really worth his weight in gold as a tour rider. He better score some points for us, then.

Not a really good continuation in the Dauphine, Yvo de Cleer gets place 30 in stage 3 to Plateau de Solaison, which was won by Sportlife's Nicola Miorlin, a feat both could not repeat in the next stage. Yvo is now 26th in the GC on three and a half minutes from Atlantico's Siegmund Paulsen.

These climbing goats will be in Switzerland:

291 Oliver King
292 Carlo Bemelmans
293 Yvo de Cleer
294 Dénes Nemcsik
295 Garret Rose

Oliver is there for the GC, assisted by Yvo and Garret. Carlo and Dénes might go for desperately needed points in individual stages.

Olé !  :)
Victory of Miorlin, who was not a favorite and he has no TC bonus.
He did not even had the best helper, Huszta (with TC). He had to score points too, and also he did excellent as not-favorite ; 5th in a free role.
In stage 4 again very good results (2nd and 8th), although they could not repeat the magnificent results of stage 3.

After the final Dauphiné stage Yvo de Cleer moved up 13 places in the GC and ended on place 13 GC.
So, maybe 80 unexpected and very needed points for you with this GC result, Combuijs.
Also a moral boost for your team, because de Cleer was 1:02" better as Miorlin in the GC.  ;)
Good luck in the Tour de Suisse !
