Reply in English, more easy for me and otherwise maybe something will be lost in translation.
Si tu inglés no es bueno, avísame, lo intentaré en español.First of all ; this is just my opinion about your team. My knowledge of a youth team of hills specialists is limited.
I never had such a youth team, and I have no 19yo's to compare it with. So my opinion is just for what it is worth.
Although I bought some days ago a 21yo training project and he is a hills specialist too.
If my opinion is wrong, a big chance a reader will make a remark about it. And hopefully you get more opinions about your team.
You wrote you bought this youth team very cheap, so I will not be too critical.
And I like a lot the very important high talent ratings of your team.
According to me your best talents need that high talent rating to become good enough and get a golden hills icon.
Your best cyclists are
Vince and
Putman. And I agree with you that Vince will determine the training schedule.
Although I like Putnam too because he has a little bit flat, but Vince has a higher talent rating.
Your 3rd cyclist who should become good enough is
Abolins.
According to me these 3 mentioned cyclists are worth to train for the upcoming 4½ seasons.
The others are doubtfull to me.
Including your maybe nr4 Duyndam. It could be that I'm too critical now about him, because he has a good talent rating.
Maybe Duyndam is doubtfull enough to train him too, and see how he will develop.
I'm not very good in estimating/calculating how a cyclist looks like when he is "fully" trained at his 24th birthday.
I estimate it in gut-fox-feeling, what to my surprise often enough works. But for sure I can be wrong, that happens also often enough.
You mentioned TDU ; I don't see a future top10 GC TDU cyclist in your team. ( maybe I'm wrong )
The TDU often has 2 different tracks ; one with a
MHHHH race and one with a long distance TT of 90km.
And in both different kinds of tracks ; a TDU specialist has to be a hills specialist with a sprint ( what means also a good high flat skill ).
About training into a different kind of hills specialist, such as a flat-hills specialist or even a cobble-hills specialist ;
I think none of your team is good enough to become such a cyclist, I estimate there are many better 19yo's in the game.
And beside this, for example a cobble-hills cyclist will have a too big training problem because hills specialist Vince decides how to train.
But besides your 3 best cyclists ;
maybe it is also worth to train Duyndam, Veerpalu, Archambaud, Arata and Redondo.
Although it is already obvious that Archambaud and Redondo will have a big future training problem on downhill.
Despite his 2 weather icons and good talent rating ; I'm not so impressed by Saiz, his stamina and flat are too low.
But maybe I'm too critical now, and maybe he can be an experimental training project.
Taglioni his hills-GV is way too low and therefore I have too many doubts about him. Maybe I'm wrong and his talent rating 5 saves him.
According to me Beck, Amsler, Theunisse and Nikolasjen have to go and are not worth training ; a waste of a precious place in your team.
Replace them by better talents, or another very good option ; replace them by point scoring old cyclists.
Your team is in the 3rd division, so if you buy a cyclist for 50k who can almost make 1 million (price-ánd points-money) in one season ;
that is a much better investment than to train doubtfull or not good enough 19yo's.
And it is also more fun to race, and it is an investment in your tactical manager skills when you race instead of training many 19yo's.
To me it seems the best option to race and make a lot of money,
with a mini youth team aside with at least your 3 best talents, added with a few experimental training projects.
About your best talents Vince and Putman, don't expect that they will be real top cyclists / winners.
But for sure they will be good enough to score points in 1A and probably/hopefully also good enough to finish top10 (with TC bonus).
For sure there is a chance I'm too critical now, and they will be better as I think. But good is that most likely they will not be worse as I think.
To other managers / readers ;
if you disagree with something in this text, or if you have an own opinion about the youth team of LottoStelvio ;
please reply, it can be worthfull information to Toshette.
To Toshette ; have fun and good luck with your team !

( and again, this is just my opinion, for what it is worth because my knowledge about a hills-youth-team is limited )
