How's the Emperor trophy going? Do I have any chances on the Tour of Langkawi? With 8 stages, it seems like we are going to have fun! :-*

About the King of Mountains? Am I not winning by 1 now? If you win the mountain classification on this tour, won't you win it as in case of draw it goes to the last winner?

This was the situation before the 2 little tours ; CRO race and Tour de Romandie Féminin =

SEASON TR0PHIES 2022 :
( the only rule= when there is an equal amount of victories, the person who won last will be ranked higher )

TOP 24 Emperor of Stage Wins Trophy
( including prologue )

1 Vos   61
2 ophiuko   55

TOP 12 King of the Mountains Trophy

1 Vos   9
2 ophiuko   7

After the 2 little tours ( CRO race and Tour de Romandie Féminin ) this is the new ranking in the Emperor of Stage Wins Trophy ;
Vos =  + 2 stage victories = season total of 63 = nr 1   :P  :))
ophiuko =  + 7 stage victories = season total of 62 = nr 2

And the new ranking in the King of the Mountains Trophy ;
ophiuko =  + 2 mountain jerseys = season total of 9 = nr 1, because of the only rule in the season trophies.
Vos =  + 0 = season total of also 9 = nr 2   :o  >:(  :'(  :))

So, it will be a very exciting Tour de Langkawi, what i.m.o. almost for 100% certain will be the final tour of this season 2022.
I really have to win the mountain jersey, if someone else wins it, you will be the 2022 victor of King of the Mountains Trophy.
In the Emperor Trophy it will be a battle with 8 stages in the Tour de Langkawi.
Maybe this season trophy will be decided ( too ? ) in who wins as last a stage, because that is decisive with an equal amount of victories.
But it is fine by me if we both do not win any stage, and all other CFF participants win the 8 stages.  ;)

Anyway, good luck Ophiuko ánd everyone, in the most likely final season battle in Malaysia ! 8)

the next tour starts soon ! ;
  16 hours and 40 minutes left to join.
previous winners ; pizzaboys ( 20 + 19 ), Averatalm ( 18 ), PieterJanVB ( 17 ), oldmen ( 16 ).

Super-exciting. Hopefully the startlist will be more prestigious than Tour of Japan. Thanks for the update!

Huge mistake! I got Julius and Marijn van den Berg confused, I meant to pick Marijn but I picked Julius  :-\

First impressions on the selections is that you aim to be Emperor rather than King  ;D

In the battles I had 2 good options ; pick 15 sprinters ór pick 15 climbers.
But to make it more exciting, I chose the questionable option 3 = a mix of sprinters and climbers.  ???  :o  ;D
Estimating / gambling on that every CFF participant had a mix of picks, including you Ophiuko, and fun you made a mix as well. :)

After all, it is the last tour of the season, and I have no clue who are still motivated to perform in Malaysia.
And I estimated before this tour started, that the season battles might be decided in who has the most abandonned cyclists.
So, more fun to make it exciting with a mix of picks, because I have no idea what will happen.

Probably not my the best strategic choice, but it for sure is the most fun choice, hahaha.  :))
A bit less cheerfull is that I had at first almost all sprinters picked, incl. the nrs 1, 2, 6, 7 of the stage 1 result.
That former sprinters selection of mine, would have been for sure a stage victory in the CFF League.
Still, looking at all the picks of everyone, my mix of picks might have the most emphasis / focus on sprint points
and it seems that your mix of picks have the most emphasis / focus on climb points, compared to all picks of everyone.

Conclusion = Indeed, I can forget about winning the season trophy King of the Mountains with my mix of picks.
There is a very little chance to beat you in the mountain classification, if Rubén Fernández does great ( like he did in Emilia = 7th ).
But it seems impossible for me to beat all other CFF participants as well in the MC.
So, perhaps I should congratulate you allready now, and call you thé King of the Mountains in 2022 !  8)

The other season trophy battle is still wide open and with a difference of just 1 stage victory, we both can still win it.
Although I heard a rumor that these cyclists will not start in stage 2 ;   ;)

Bax ( good pick, he is in topform, and therefore I certainly considered to pick him as well, probably I will regret not picking him ).

J.vdBerg ( indeed, perhaps the wrong vdBerg, but Julius is for sure also good, sometimes better as Marijn who is not family,
because van den Berg is a very common Dutch name, and means "from the mountain", is odd, because there are no Dutch mountains )

Carthy ( a pick that I deleted at the last moment, what seems a stupid move to delete someone who was 3rd in the Vuelta once,
but this season he did not perform very well, and I gamble on that the heat in Malaysia will be too much for his long body,
anyway, probably a big mistake of me not to pick him ).

v Rensburg ( good pick because he seems in form, ánd he is used to shady little tours in unknown countries ).

Moniquet ( an excellent 24yo, if he did not come back of an injury, I for sure picked him as well, now I have doubts if he can finish this tour, but looking at his recent good results, this might be another regret of me and I should have picked him ).

Moscon ( always a "dark horse" everywhere ; he can score a lot of points sometimes, but also sometimes he really dissapoints,
and in this Langkawi there is probably just 1 or 2 stages that suit him very well, incl. stage 8, what is a bit of a concern to me,
because you picked him and I did not, and the last stage win might be decisive in the Emperor of Stage Wins Trophy ).

Træen ( another one that I really considered to pick too, and I even considered him as mountain jersey winner,
because he likes to attack, and can score MC points in sprint stages. But I did not, because he is too heavy for thé 2 decisive stages with an upmountain finish, maybe a wrong choice because he can score out of the breakaway in those stages too,
but maybe a good choice not to pick him, because he is Norwegian and maybe struggling with the Malaysian climate ).

But without kidding, you made an excellent selection of 15 picks, ophiuko !
Despite it is questionable to chose for a mix in our battles, but I did too, so it will be an exciting Tour de Langkawi. 8)
I'm also impressed by the excellent picks of every other CFF participant ; it seems everyone is in topform in the last tour of the season !  :)

  Syritsa ( 22, RUS ) wins stage 1.

CFF League stage 1 winner = Vlominck  8)

I deleted my previous post, because the situation has changed ;
Molano did not get the stage 2 victory, because he has been disqualified for irregular sprinting.

This has also a consequence for the CFF League, because there is an other stage 2 winner now.
At first Vlominck was the stage 2 winner, but now it is me. :)
We both picked Molano, but because all cyclists moved up one place after Molano was disqualified,
and because I had more points-scoring cyclists ; now I won with a few points difference, instead of 2nd and a few points behind Vlominck.

  Wiggins ( 23, AUS ) wins stage 2, and Syretisa keeps the GC jersey by finishing as 2nd.

CFF League stage 2 winner = Vos  :)
Vos is the new GC leader with 6 more stages to go.

Indeed, a big mistake, because Carthy finished as 2nd in stage 3.

Træen ( another one that I really considered to pick too . . . . . . .  ).

And Træen finished as 5th in mountain stage 3, that was won by Sosa.
Sosa is 4x picked ( Vos, Vlominck, Patrick Kok, ophiuko ) , and 2x as MC winner ( Vos, ophiuko ), and 1x as GC winner ( ophiuko ).
WCS is not updated yet and I'm curious who wins stage 3 in the CFF League. For sure it is not me.  :-[ :))

  solo victory of Sosa ( 24, COL ) in mountain stage 3.
Sosa is the new GC leader, and it seems he has just one GC rival ; Carthy on 0:23". Because all others are more than 2 minutes behind.

CFF League stage 3 winner = ophiuko  8)
An extreme narrow victory, because Patrick Kok had just 1 point less in this stage.
Vlominck takes back the GC lead, with 5 more stages to go.

It seems certain that the "battle" for the King of the Mountains Trophy is decided, because I have zero chance to win the mountain jersey.
Congratulations, King Ophiuko8)

Could it happen that you are going to win the Emperor because of Molano being naughty?  :P

That would be great and I love the Malaysian jury.  :-*
But with still 5 stages to go, the Emperor Trophy is certainly not decided yet.

You need just one more stage victory to win it, and according to me you are the top favorite to win mountain stage 7.
So, most likely I need another stage victory as well, to stay ahead.

And there are more possibillities of what might happen, including that Patrick Kok wins mountain stage 7 and that you win another stage.
And maybe we both do not win anymore, what would be a very nice scenario to me. :)
Well, whatever happens, it for sure is an exciting Tour de Langkawi.  8)

I guess that, after stage 4, I made it a lot more harder for you to win the Emperor Trophy, ophiuko.  :P
Now you have to win 2 stages out of the 4 remaining stages, and hope that I don't win another stage.

To "comfort" you, ophiuko :-* ; even if I win the Emperor Trophy, you will be the one who wins the most season trophies in 2022.

  Mareczko ( 28, ITA ) wins stage 4. ( and to my relief ; no top result of Syretisa, who finished as 12th )

CFF League stage 4 winner = Vos  :)
Halfway this Tour de Langkawi, Vos takes back the GC lead.

01    [BEL]     Lionel Taminiaux Alpecin-Deceuninck    03:41:42   :)   1x
02    [NED]    Julius van den Berg EF Education-EasyPost    + 00    :o   3x
03    [AUS]    Carter Bettles ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast    + 04

13    [NOR]    Erlend Blikra Uno-X Pro Cycling Team    + 38
14    [RSA]    Reinardt Janse van Rensburg Lotto Soudal    + 38   :o   3x
15    [ESP]    Manuel Peñalver Burgos-BH    + 38   :)   2x
16    [NED]    Marijn van den Berg EF Education-EasyPost    + 38   :)   1x
17    [AUS]    Craig Wiggins ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast    + 38
18    [RSA]    Gustav Basson ProTouch    + 38
19    [ROM]    Eduard Michael Grosu Drone Hopper-Androni Giocattoli    + 38   2x
20    [RUS]    Gleb Syritsa Astana Qazaqstan Team    + 38   1x

I added how many times the cyclists were picked, in red.

edit ; It seems impossible for ophiuko to win this stage 5,
because Combuijs has the same picks as ophiuko ( = nrs 2, 5, 6, 7, 14 ) and Combuijs has one more points-scoring cyclist ( = nr 12 ).
And I guess that Combuijs will be the stage 5 winner.
Although difficult to estimate who wins this stage, because other things count too ( interm.sprints, picked team, GC points, and maybe more things ).

  Taminiaux ( 26, BEL ) wins stage 5.

CFF League stage 5 winner = ophiuko  8)
Vos is still the GC leader with 3 more stages to go.

Well, I was right that Combuijs scored the most in the PC in this stage,
but he was far from stage victory due to less points in MC, GC, and picked team. Even Vlominck and Vos did better in this stage.
Anyway, the excitement :D is fully back in the Emperor Trophy ; the difference is again just 1, the same situation as before this tour started.
