A very exciting final mountain race.
Early in the race, Del Toro attacked with a few others on the Col de l'Iseran, and GC leader Riccitello could not follow.
On the next mountain, Riccitello could close the gap a bit, but he "blew himself up" and lost a lot of time on the final mountain.
Pellizzari ( 19, ITA ) won this stage, with as only one in his wheel ; the surprising victor of this Tour de l'Avenir, Del Toro.

The final stage seemed to turn out into a peleton sprint.
But with 700 meters to go, while the lead outs were at full pace,
Ludwig had a very explosive solo attack and won by 5 seconds !
Together with the gained boni-seconds, she almost won the GC but still came 2 seconds short to beat van Vleuten.

Bowing to rider and team pressure, race organisers announced that the general classification time was taken with 9km to go
due to the weather making the loop around Montjuic too dangerous in the wet conditions.
Piccolo is the new GC leader, because he was in a 2-man break away with 9 km to go, enough seconds ahead to gain the red jersey.
But it took some time before it was official, and the GC finish line with 9 km to go, was not even on TV.
