An epic GC battle in this mountain stage 16, with big shifts in the GC.
Roglič abandonned. Ayuso was very bad and dropped to 17th GC on 13:27"
His teammate and GC leader Del Toro lost time, and even almost lost the pink GC jersey to S.Yates and/or Carapaz.
And more remarkable GC stuff happened in this thrilling stage 16.

Further more ; Early in this race there was heavy rain with 2 victims in seperate slip-crashes ;
Tarling and Martinelli crashed hard, and had to abandon this Giro.
