This night we raced a stage with a bug in database. Cobbles sections are taken as flat sections and flat as cobbles. I will repair it and we will race at 8.00 cff time these race.
This night at 5.00 we will continue Vuelta España. The season will finish a bit later but the end of season process will be at same time. All movements you make since this night at 5.00 and this evening at 19.00 have been deleted when we restored database. Sorry but this was a big problem that change a lot the results.

If you put tactics today then you need to put National Teams tactics again due to the update

I think the Australians are screwed now. They dont have riders selected and with the time differences i believe they are asleep. There goes the 3rd place.

I realized it just yesterday evening that I remembered this Vuelta stage was very weird in previous season.
A pm contact with someone yesterday evening confirmed my memory.
To be more sure I also searched this stage on the forum, and there is something written about it, not much, but enough to remember better.
And the reply to my forum post of yesterday evening confirmed it too.

Besides this ; I would remembered it better or posted this stage in the (possible) bug topic when I had a cobblestone rider or a GC rider in previous season stage 3 Vuelta. But back then I had no riders for that stage, so I did not pay much attention to it. I assumed that one season ago someone with interests in this stage would notify Oska or post it on the bug topic as possible bug. It is now clear nobody did that, what is surprising to me.

And when I posted my text about this stage yesterday evening, I was not entirely sure it was a software error, it seemed to me, but almost nothing on the forum about this one season ago.
So for me it was a sudden dilemma after I remembered yesterday evening. And the reason of my question in my forum post of yesterday :

stage 4 Vuelta ;
1º victory of Benett !
4º Basov
17º Crouzel

Let's go to cobble stage 5.
This is the exact same stage as Vuelta stage 3 of previous season,
with just one difference ; back then only rain was active and now only wind (1 stripe) is active.

In previous season there was something very special happening in this race, it looked even like a software error ;
the race development did not match the race picture.
For sure this was the by far most bizarre, unlogical stage I have ever seen in CFF3 ánd CFF2.
So the question = is it this time a normal race, or just like previous season an extreme weird and bizarre race ?
Both possibillities have completely different tactics.

So I did not know what to expect and what tactics to use with my cobble rider who is not a favorite, but he has TC and active weather icon.
My tactical choice was not perfect for both possibilities, but in advance it seemed to me good tactics with both possibilities.
In hinside I'm a tactical wizard :

the first bug version = 4º Faber
the second bug-free version = 3º Faber

Too bad I did not know in time this stage would be fixed, otherwise Faber and helper would have raced with better (more logical) tactics.
But Faber 20145 and the helper in 53400 were fine tactics to get a good result in both possibilities. The results prove that.
In fact, it was even another possibility as I suspected, if there was still a bug,
in advance it seemed to me a  much more chance this was fixed already, but also a chance it could happen again.
Because according to the ADMIN-CFF pm it was a FFCFF instead of the by me suspected possibility FFCCC.

Well, with better tactics probably/maybe Faber could have done better as this 3rd place,
but my tactics were perfect for all possibilities, including bug versions.
And too bad I could not change the tactics in time, but happy with this result.

Maybe Faber had the best average result over these 2 versions, so according to me ; in a way he won tacticaly of everyone today.

CFF Cup final
too bad, again a Silver CFF Cup.
Basov did great in a 20045 ( 11 EP ), but I was hoping Miorlin and/or Crouzel could be with him in s4 with 5 EP.
Unfortunately that was not the case. Basov was isolated in the leading group together with 4 KunTeam climbers.
Only his extra strong 5 EP could make Basov the surprising winner, but Nygård won easily with 0:30" ahead.

Gracias , good to see your tactics, it is clear you had better climbers.
The same teamcaptain tactic, and the helpers of mine almost the same with Miorlin 30153 and Crouzel 32250.
But your team was with 4 cyclists in s4 together with my isolated teamcaptain who had no chance, the 0:30" gap in s5 confirms that.

Basov shouted to me on top of the mountain in s4 :
"Hé Vos, where are my director, masajista, medico and mecanico ?! And wtf, where is my material?!!"
I guess he never was a teamcaptain in a CFF Cup race before.^^

Luna now 20th in the GC. Not really interesting but hey. Tonight Verbeek can go for glory. If he wins it would mean a stage win for TeamRHB in all different grand tours.

If he wins, he will get this prestigious milestone ;
Pierino Baffi Trophy ( stage winner in all the 3 Grand Tours )

My main goal in previous season was to achieve this trophy, and Miorlin won it.
Maybe good to mention that it is 100% certain this is a team trophy.
So, 3 different cyclists with just 1 stage victory on their palmares is already enough if those 3 cyclists win each in a different grand tour.
Despite this ; just 14 CFF managers have the prestigious Pierino Baffi Trophy.

And not just good luck in winning this trophy, but also good luck in the battle for the Golden Bike, every point might be usefull.
Although to me Verbeek is not the favorite to win the Golden Bike.
Even if he would win the Silver Bike, that is already an unique achievement, because also the Silver Bike was always won by a tour rider.
Just the Bronze Bike was won by 3 specialists, and one of them (Pierre, cobblehills) did that even 3 times in the most recent seasons.

An unexpected good result of my cobblehills rider.
Although it seems it can be explained by not many hills-specialists in this Vuelta.
Many other not real hills-specialists did great too in this hills stage.
For example Golden Bike contender Lorenzetto finished as 12th.

I'm glad I didn't know about this because I was asleep when everything was redone.  I'm only disappointed there was time for people to reset their tactics, and for the Australian NT team of course (and more so for several others - Australia probably wouldn't have gained points but others possibly would have).

I posted the top 20 GC after the wrong / cancelled stage 5 ; so this seems to me a good moment to post the real top 20 GC.
Also because it is exciting at the moment ; the top5 GC within one minute.
And all other GC contenders have to fight for their spot too because their rivals are close.
For some scoring GC points is not certain, because numbers 21 and 22 are just 4 and 5 seconds behind the number 20.
Still everything is possible with 4 more stages to go, and in 3 of them I expect big time differences, possibly also among GC riders.

Thanks Vos. One of the goals this season was this stage. Happy we got the win. The 5th of the season and thats a record too. Verbeeks 9th podium of the season, a great season for a specialist. Now in 3945 points almost 1000 points more than Lorenzetto and 129 in front of Riis. I doubt if it will be enough but i gave it my best.

Now focus will be on Luna for the GC. Currently 18th. Tonight will be survival.

Especially section 4 was fun too see, a leading group of 3 with both my climbers in it.

4º Faber
My Dutch cobblesprinter did well in his both stages of the Vuelta ( 3rd and now 4th ).
Lucky for him, the finish of stage 8 Vuelta was in Lloret de Mar, so he can rest now on the beach. His job in the Vuelta is done.

GC top favorite Hilton takes back the red jersey and wins time on his rivals.
If he rides another very good stage this evening, maybe already he can secure the Vuelta victory in Teruel (500km south of Lloret de Mar).

Ive noticed that the pressure is off for me. After the hill stage  i am not that interested in this season anymore. Fighting for a 13th place in the GC is also not something i get enthousiastic about. This shows in my stage results. Gilliam went too fast for Luna and rode off into the distance leaveing him helperless.
