This was totally unexpected, even when I saw the result of the stage in the morning, I was assuming someone else would have won.

3 stages to go, a flat sprint that Vos could easily win, a not-so-hard-but-still-mountain that I could easily win, and a flat stage with a hilly ending that anyone could win.

The final countdown!

  Blikra ( 25, NOR ) wins stage 6.

CFF League stage 6 winner = Vos  :)
Vos is still the GC leader with 2 more stages to go.

A close victory, because Syritsa finished as 2nd who is only picked by Vlominck.
Just 7 points difference, mainly caused by my better team pick. I had 10 team points more than Vlominck, who finished as 2nd.

The final countdown!
Situation Emperor Trophy = Ophiuko has to win the final 2 stages, if not, I win this season trophy.
Ophiuko is the top favorite to win stage 7, and if he wins, it comes down to the very last stage of this season !  :o  8)  :))

Bax ( good pick, he is in topform, and therefore I certainly considered to pick him as well, probably I will regret not picking him ).

Bax ( 26, NED ) wins landslide modified* stage 7.
* = Summit( upmountain ) finish removed after intense rain caused flooding and landslides, turns stage in favour of the attackers.

CFF League stage 7 winner = ophiuko  8)  --> stage winner of all WCS participants !  8)
Vos is still the GC leader with 1 more stage to go.

Almost a surprise in the Emperor Trophy,
but thanks to Sjoerd Bax ( only picked by ophiuko ) there is still the expected stage 7 winner in the CFF League.
Well, I'm happy that Ophiuko won this stage,
because winning the Emperor Trophy by a naughty Molano in stage 2 ánd by flooding & landslides in stage 7, would not feel right.

And maybe beneficial to me this altered stage 7, looking at my chance to win Langkawi.
What is still very uncertain, but at least a chance now, because I don't think I had a chance if stage 7 had the expected summit finish.

Of course, more important to me than the Langkawi victory, is the Emperor Trophy ;
Ophiuko has to win the last stage as well, and he has a good chance due to the extra GC points that count too in a stage.
Because Træen moved up to 3rd GC in this stage 7, and Ophiuko has even picked the entire current top 6 GC.

Although stage 8 is very unpredictable and I do agree with the text of Ophiuko :
. . . . . and a flat stage with a hilly ending that anyone could win.
The final countdown!
For sure an exciting final countdown !  8)
And who knows, maybe another surprise in Langkawi that can have a big impact on the current situation.  :o :D

Wow so many things happened. When I saw this morning the announcement of the stage change I was annoyed cause I thought the tour was finishing today since they raced the stage 8 today. But if I understood correctly they are racing the same stage tomorrow again? If that's the case, I hope the outcome is exactly the same, cause today I won the stage among all WCS participants  8)

I hope Bax, Moscon and Træen are still aggressive tomorrow!

Good luck on the final stage!  :)

Ok, I missed this information and assumed that the track of stage 7 was altered.
But you are right, they cancelled stage 7 completely and already transfered to that island that has the name of this tour.
And if I understand it correctly, you are right that this same track will happen twice, in stage 7 ánd in stage 8 :

Following meetings with the local authorities which include the Road Works Department, Langkawi District Office and Langkawi District Traffic Safety Committee, it was decided that the Stage 7 finish at the summit of Gunung Raya is cancelled due to concerns on safety of riders, teams, race entourage and the public.

The cancellation was made due to the landslides which occurred at four locations in Gunung Raya.

As such, the President Commissaire of the race has agreed that Stage 8 route will be used for the Stage 7 race.

This text above was the only thing I found, and I found nothing about that Langkawi has already ended after stage 7.
So, just like you, I assume this track will be raced twice, in stage 7 and in stage 8. Let's hope our assumption is right.

Also I read this news ; Bax, Moscon and Træen tested positive on covid and will not start in the final stage 8.  :P  ( kidding, not true  ;D )

And thanks, you too good luck !  :)

Stage 8 ( almost the same track as stage 7 ) had a breakaway of 2 cyclists ; Molenaar won the sprint-a-deux versus Osborne.
Molano won the sprint of the peleton.
The points scoring cyclists in stage 8 of the CFF participants ;

1. Molenaar  = 2x picked = Animatoca and Combuijs
3. Molano = 100% picked
6. Kanter = 100% picked
7. Marijn vd Berg = 1x picked = Vos
9. Raymond Kreder = 3x picked = Vos, Animatoca and Combuijs
20. Rubio = 3x picked = Vos, ophiuko and Patrick Kok

It seems that I won the Emperor Trophy. :)
Because I estimate ánd assume that the extra GC points of ophiuko are not enough to win this stage 8.

Yeah for sure I didn't win the stage, despite the efforts of WCS to creat expectation by not updating 10 hours after the finish  ;D. Bax and Moscon were calm and quiet today.

Congratulation Vos, it was an exciting end of season. What are we going to do for the next three months?  :-\

Congratulation Vos, it was an exciting end of season.
An unofficial thanks, because WCS is still not updated. And indeed, very exciting end of season battles in the season trophies.
And you congratulations with winning the most season trophies = 4x  8)  8)  8)  8)

What are we going to do for the next three months?  :-\
Well, it would be nice if someone makes a WC football prediction game for CFF participants.
As "warming-up" this picture :

Iván Sosa in the decisive solo attack on the Genting Highlands for stage 3 victory ánd the overall GC victory.

  Molenaar ( 23, NED ) wins stage 8.  Final GC = 1st Sosa 0:00", 2nd Carthy 0:23", 3rd Træen 1:47"

CFF League stage 8 winner = Animatoca  8)

GC winner = Vos  :)
Vos wins also the sprint- and youth jerseys.
ophiuko wins the mountain jersey.
