A great GC battle on the notorious, steep L'Angliru ; Stiasny won the stage, and Blasi finished as 2nd and wins the Vuelta.

Silva wins stage 2 and takes the GC lead.

With 20 km to go, the race was neutralized for a (short) while, due to a large and very severe crash.
Many, many victims, for example Ineos captain Yates lost more than 13 minutes.
These riders DNF this stage 2 ; Buitrago, Moschetti, Vlasov, Soler, Vine and Holter.
And perhaps(?) a few riders with a DNS tomorrow due to this nasty crash.
