La Vuelta is going to be really interesting on its final week. If Mas and Roglic keep taking 20-30 seconds every mountain stage, it could be really tight. Too bad the stages left are not too hard.
Of course, first all focus on the exciting final week of the Vuelta. 8)
Hopefully no positive covid tests among the top GC contenders. Or bad crashes, for example like Alaphilippe had.

In the CFF League it might be exciting too. :)
Despite that GC leader Foeke did great with his victory in the last stage, and now a very good gap towards all others.
And what is a bit of a bad sign too  :P ;) :D = in the last stage, ophiuko made a surprising big GC jump from nr 6 to nr 2. :o
I guess Foeke and ophiuko are forgetting the most important Vuelta"rule"= do not pass Vos in the GC !  :))

  Bonneu wins stage 3.

CFF League stage 3 winner = Mitte  8)
ophiuko is still the GC leader with 5 more stages to go.

It seemed that stage 16 would be a boiring sprint race, but in the final 3km it turned into a spectacular, chaotic and exciting race.
Because Roglic attacked with 2,7 km to go, and in his wheel 4 sprinters.

Evenepoel was not positioned in the front of the peleton, and could not move up because he got a flat tire, had to stop, and far behind.
Fortunate for him, it was within the last 3km, and Evenepoel could only hope that the peleton would catch Roglic.

Meanwhile, Roglic was still leading the breakaway, and about 50 meters before the finishline, the 4 passed him to sprint for victory.
Roglic wanted to follow but crashed very hard !

Pedersen won the stage.
The jury decided that Roglic got the same time as the 4 sprinters, and that Evenepoel got the same time as the peleton on 0:08"

Hopefully Roglic is fine and can continue the Vuelta.
But he crashed very hard, and maybe it would be surprising now if he can still attack the GC lead of Evenepoel in the next stages.

ophiuko is the new GC leader.

  due to the passing of Queen Elisabeth II, all three remaining stages are cancelled.
Statement: 10:30pm, Thursday 8 September 2022

Further to the earlier statement in relation to the cancellation of stage six as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, the organisers of the AJ Bell Tour of Britain can additionally confirm that stages seven (Dorset) and eight (Isle of Wight) will not take place.

This decision has been taken in consultation with stakeholders and partners in light of operational circumstances, including the understandable reassignment of police resource at this time.

Therefore, the final standings will be taken following the conclusion of stage five on Thursday 8 September. The winner of the AJ Bell Tour of Britain 2022 will be Gonzalo Serrano (Movistar Team).

Additionally, the respective classification leaders – Tom Pidcock (Dodl by AJ Bell points), Mathijs Paasschens (ŠKODA King of the Mountains) and Matthew Teggart (Sportsbreaks.com sprints) – will also be declared the winners of those competitions.

The Tour of Britain organisation, alongside the teams, riders and officials involved in the event, send their deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time.

Well, 3 - 3 suggests that all season trophies have the same importance, that is not the case, but I get what you mean / bring it on !  :))
Officially it is 3 - 3 - 1 - 1 - 1, because the big tour victories are season trophies as well.

Also the WC jersey is a season trophy, so we can battle there too in who wins the most season trophies this season.
The WC races are still not added on the WCS calendar, and the first WC race starts already in 3½ days.

So, let's hope the WCS admins are not on holiday or another reason that they are not active.
A bit strange that Luxembourg was cancelled ( it was on the WCS calendar originally ), and that GP Wallonie was not on the calendar.

About the battle for the season trophies, as the WCS calendar is now, some trophies are already decided.
Perhaps it is doubtfull if the 2 women's tours and 1 women's race will be a WCS game.
If this is the case,  then only 1 tour left in China with 6 stages.
What means that all season trophies are already decided with 3 exceptions, if I assume that 4 WC races will be added.

# the WC jersey of the CFF League ( but not on the WCS calendar yet ).

# Chief of Classics, with the 4 WC races and without the 1 women's race, there are 7 races left.
I'm the nr 2 and 7 victories behind, so, just a theoretic chance to still win it if I win all 7 remaining races.

# Emperor of Stage Wins, if the 2 women's tours are not WCS games, there are just 6 stages left in China.
And you, Ophiuko, are the nr 2 with 6 stage wins behind, so, just a theoretic chance to still win it if you win all 6 remaining stages.

Well, this is all speculation of mine. We will see what happens / what WCS will add or cancel, what is unpredictable in my experience.
Although I really hope that the WC races will be added. A reminder of the previous winners ;  :P ;) :))
not on the WCS calendar yet, but I assume these world championship races ( in Australia ) will be opened ;
18 sep = TT WC ( women )
18 sep = TT WC ( men )
24 sep = WC roadrace ( women )
25 sep = WC roadrace ( men )
and just like in the past 5 seasons, there will be this season trophy to win ;
World Championship Trophy
How to win this WC jersey of the cycling for fun league ?
Who wins the most WC races, wins the WC jersey. With an equal amount of victories, the person who won last, will get the WC jersey.
previous winners ;
2021 Kalarratas  ( 2 victories out of 5 WC races )
2020 Kalarratas  ( 1 victory out of 4 WC races )
2019 Vos  ( 2 victories out of 4 WC races )
2018 Vos  ( 3 victories out of 4 WC races )
2017 oldmen  ( 1 victory out of 3 WC races )
